What is the storyline for A Child's Hope 2? I don't even think I've seen the first part!!! Not many Singaporean series to watch now. Or many I can find that was released here.
    Yesterday's History,
    Tomorrow's a Mystery,
    Today's a Gift,
    That’s why we call it,
    The Present.

It is about doctors and their patients, who are children strickened with illness.

The first part, A Child's Hope, is divided into "cases", something like DIF. The series is good but depressing, especially in the first few episodes. Those episodes are heartbreaking.

However, since both series are sponsored by Singapore National Kidney Foundation (NKF), you can expect to find advertising blurbs about the various plans and helps provided by NKF in the series.

    Default Donation Drive

A Child's Hope I & II is sponsored by Singapore National Kidney Foundation to raise awareness about its activities. Although they started out as a non-profit body to help kidney patients, they have now expanded their reach to include children with rare disorders as those depicted in the stories. Actually this is another method to raise funds for the foundation. Don't know if you'd noticed the donation hotline number displayed at the end of every episode.

This series has ended it's run. Today was the last episode. Didn't catch much of it though I watched the last episode. It can be heartbreaking at times as the medical cases are based on real people.

I feel that it is not as heartbreaking as part 1, though that may be a good or bad thing depending on the person.

    A Child's Hope 2

Stars Li Nanxing, Jeanette Aw, Chen Liping, Zhang Yaodong, Sharon Au, Felicia Chin, Allan Wu, Carole Lin, Seow Ee Meng, Patricia Mok, Lin Meijiao, Huang Shinan.

Hu Yidao (Li Nanxing) sleeps on a cold stone bench at the side of a children playground much like a wandering homeless man. It is here that he befriends a young boy - Guo Dahai. He has no idea that this little boy will have such a great impact on his life later on.

Dahai was born without an anus. Passing motion is a basic bodily function to many of us; but to Dahai, it is something he has never experienced. He was also born with many health problems; one of his kidneys is smaller than usual, he is unable to defecate or urinate, and has to have a tube inserted in his belly at all times. Yidao is shocked that Dahai has to bear so much pain, and still has such a strong will to survive.

Dahai tells Yidao, “When other people forsake me, I must not ever forsake myself. I must carry on with life.” This touches Yidao deeply, with the realisation that to live on with courage is a more arduous task than to give up or run away.

Yidao gets to know an amusing grandmother-granddaughter pair – Lin Taijun (Xu Qiongfang) and Lin Jinghao (Jeanette Aw), as well as the kind-hearted Kit (Felicia Chin), through Dahai.

Jinghao is a social worker, and Kit is an employee of Children’s Medical Fund (CMF). They can be considered a team in their respective work. In their quest to help ailing children, Jinghao is rash and compulsive while Kit is composed and logical. Although Yidao does not approve of some of the ways Jinghao goes about her work, he is still appreciative of her determination and devotion to help the children.
