How did Lawrence Ng portray Lau Bong? He doesn't look like a hero to me LOL. I'm like so obsessed with Adam's Lau Bong just from the pictures and how China fans discuss about the scenes that he filmed in Wuxi and Xinchang hehe.

mammamia, I totally agree with your analysis but I can't see any of the pictures that you post.

    Suet,

I saw adam cheng played that semi-crazy guy in the 'greed of man'.
He did hurt people but he didn't know about it.
I don't think he is like really 100% bad villian in there such as when he mentioned its very cruel to keep mentioning the rape caused by one his sons during the trial to hurt sean lau's younger sister.

I think adam's 4 sons in the story are much crueler & vicious than he is.

I heard good things about his character thus he shouldn't be considered a villain right? In fact, I bet he could pull off any villaneous role e.g. the famous Yip Koo Sing and Ding hai. He's such a gifted actor! Kwong Wa doesn't look tough nor rough as the commander and he tries too hard to look 'bad' but I'd say he probably do good cos he was an excellent villain in one of the 80s series where he portrayed Yong Cheng!! Lastly, Maggie had been casted in numerous villain characters before, so I'm sure she could pull off her role as empress Lu with her acting skills.

I guess we'll just wait and see when this series comes out!

    Angel,

I just don't think kong wah can play that type of role as a rough, tough & courageos commander. I saw him in "the legend of lady yang" & "the silver tycoon", 'journey to the west I & II', 'stamp of love", 'crimson sabre 2000' 'lady flower fist' & 'stitches & riches' but did NOT watch 'secret battle of the majesty'.

From what I have heard & saw adam's character in the story is suppose to be a sly villain & so is his wife in there in order to win over Kong Wah's character in the story. Kong Wah's character in the story is suppose to be more moral & courageous type & his famous beautiful wife is suppose to be a gentle & more of a naive woman.

I saw the earlier versions of these characters in TVB's 1980's version drama series called "the battlefield" which Lawrence Ng played the villain & Idy as the famous beauty & the movie called "the conqueror's concubine" played by Rosamund Kwan chi lam & Ray Lui Leung Wai & Gong Li.

The themesong in that movie was great.
I think TVB's version of 'the conqueror's story' will not be good as the movie's version.

I'm not a fan of Kwong Wa, but I found his acting excellent in the Battle of Majesty!! He was so evil to the point I wanted to punch his face for all the bad plots he did lol. Adam Cheng is undeniable one of the best/versatile actors around, hence I have confidence that he can successfully portray Liu Bang (even if he's semi-evil). That's what a good actor does! It'd be more interesting to see hero with flaws like Liu Bang than a perfect one cos he's more human-like.

He portrayed like all his other villain roles in the 80s. (you know, the scheming villain) Really unlikeable.

Thanks. Glad that I never watched Lawrence Ng's version otherwise, I might have a bad impression of Lau Bong

I wonder why Adam looks as if he wants to cry on his wedding day? (first pic)

I am really looking forward to this series.
I think that is so challenging for all the actors to portray these too famous and too difficult characters that only the try should deserve our recognition.
I am personally a KW's fan and I think he has the "royal" look for the character.

Perhaps the bride (Lui Chi) doesn't show up LOL. He looks so sad in these captures contrary to the ones I've seen in TVB Weekly.
