I think there should be a Virtues of Harmony III if they decide to end this one. It's one the best comedy series that I have seen.

yeah, I heard about it. Well, it's about time to end a Virtues of Harmony II anyway, in my opinion. They would have run out of ideas sooner or later.

I can't wait for To Catch the Uncatchable II if that is what happening.

I'll post my thoughts on this week's tapes later.

I seriously hope that was intentional. Did anyone bother to correct her?
It was intentional on Stephanie's part for comedic effect. I loved that scene because it was downright hilarious. Stephanie says "I'm excellent at English and I'm more high-class and educated than any of you." But actually she's really dirty, low-class, and stupid. Hahaha. I love her character! I crack up thinking about that line. "I FRY you Lam Yuk Lo" Haha. It makes me think that it's weird that we use "fire" to give someone the boot from their job. I also thought it was funny because it was almost as if Stephanie was saying "I'm going to fry you (literally)."

I'm glad to see you're enjoying VOH so. Although I would have loved to see Joyce and Johnny get married. I realized after that plotline that they couldn't yet. They are still too young and their careers aren't yet stable. Therefore, a wedding between them would be too sudden and not the best idea.

Yup, Hawick is gone forever. You know what? You're the first person to compliment Hawick's last storyline. I found it decent but one of VOH II's worst plotlines recently. It is too fictional and unbelievable. Haha. I got some laughs, but I feel sad that the writers couldn't have given Hawick a better last plotline. Maybe they should have killed him off to make his role more memorable.

Focus will switch back to Kingdom & Lun & Lau Dan in 2 more weeks.

No, "To Catch" isn't going to have a sequel. Nor is it going to be the next long-running series. Dayo has said that he doesn't want to "repeat" his roles or series. Plus, the schedule of a long-running series is too rushed for them to be able to film a long-running sequel to "To Catch." In my opinion (as I read more articles and interviews), the ending of VOH II is a mutual agreement from the casts and crew. They've worked too long and hard. Although the show is very successful, they need a break. Plus I think many of the casts want to break off their VOH image and try on different roles. The ending of VOH wasn't forced or due to decreased support. Plus, the total between VOH I & II is around 800+, which lands VOH a solid spot as TVB's #2 longest series and the first one with both a modern and an ancient version and it has a large fanbase..... And that's good enough.

From now on, I will no longer be doing weekly tape awards. Instead, I will just be writing down my thoughts and including screenshots of the best parts of that week's episodes. I realized that doing awards were becoming too repetitive and I had a hard time giving each scene a unique name. So I decided to go back to a plain review, but to make mine stick out, I added screenshots! Haha!

"Virtues of Harmony II" Part VI Tapes 11-12 (Episodes 241-244... 361-366)

I loved this week's episodes! I can honestly say that they were excellent and truly classic ones. The highlight was of course the Bondy & Michael subplot with expecting babies. What a riot! So many crazy and hilarious scenes during that subplot. I really enjoyed it. Next, the grand appearance of Steven Ma and of course the plot with 'Tung Mat Yuen''s failing business. Very funny.

Bondy Chiu and Michael Tse reminded me of a real married couple expecting their first babies. They were so freaking cute. Michael was all happy and Bondy was pissed. "Ah Yuet, you're good!" exclaims Bondy when he was going on and on about how her pregnancy had nothing to do with him. He replied "Of course I'm good! I got you pregnant!" Hahaha. It was funny that Bondy used cheap birth control pills. She always says that she always use authentic stuff and teases people for using cheap stuff, when she uses them as well. It was funny when everyone had to appease Bondy and she thought she was going to get to eat all of these expensive foods. But it turns out her pregnancy turned her "empress dowager's stomach" to a "maid's stomach." It was funny how she couldn't handle expensive foods or things anymore but could only be satisfied with a beggar's things. Poor Bondy! It was great when the pregnancy was announced to be twins. Everyone was so funny. It was so funny when they went to buy stuff for their kids. Bondy bought clothes that looked similar to her outfits and Michael brought toys. Haha. It was hilarious when they signed up to "Hello Mimi Land" for their unborn child. The saleslady asked "Do you have a picture of him/her?" They showed her the X-ray picture of the baby. She looks at them in shock, "Are you guys kidding me?" "No!" Haha. Then they were exclaiming how cute their baby was. Even if he/she is not yet born, Michael and Bondy are already spoiling him/her! It was hilarious when they discussed where the baby would sleep, who would wake up during the middle of the night when he/she cries, and so on. It was also sweet when Michael put his head down on Bondy's stomach to hear his babies. "I hear two hearts! It's the heart of me and you." He was going to tell a story, but then he fell asleep! Haha.

Babies are really expensive (especially twins!). Parents-to-be expecting kids do have so much to worry about. It was hilarious when Michael calculated the costs of his twins and was trying to raise more money. I also cracked up when Louis dressed up as a bathroom boy and said, "If Ah Yuet can make that much money, I can make more!" The family looked at him, "You?!" and cracked up. Hahaha. If they scolded Michael for not being fit enough for such a job, what makes Louis think that he has the credentials for it? Hehe. I feel this week's subplot on Michael and Bondy would be most hilarious and relatable to couples who have been through expecting their first born. (Quite a satire!) I loved the part where Nancy and Mannor were battling for control over the raising of Bondy and Michael's twins. I felt that it was a bit sad that Bondy decided to push the responsibility of raising her kid to someone else. She was even going to hire a nanny! It was a shame because it's true that parents today do more often tend to push their responsibilities to someone else because they're too busy working. I loved the part where they discussed whether it would be better if the pregnancy was a boy or a girl. Really hilarious. Louis even held a bet on Bondy's pregnancy! I bet the doctor was trying to supress his laughter when Yvonne asked him, "Is it true that sour foods yield a boy and sweet foods makes the pregnancy a girl?" Haha. He explained, "No, the baby's gender is determined at the moment of conception. Whatever food is consumed doesn't effect the gender."

Stephanie Che was hilarious as always. She was so pissed that all of the employees were preventing her from firing Bondy. "Oh yeah?! I don't need you guys. I can type my own letter." She typed with one finger a firing letter for Bondy. She looked all proud at her one sentence with all capital letters. Haha. "I FRY YOU LAM YUK LO." That was so hilarious. Stephanie thinks she's so high-class and educated when really she's stupid. She can't tell the difference between "fry" and "fire." I cracked up silently thinking that she might have really wanted to physically fry Bondy. She chased Bondy around to give her the letter. Does anyone else realize that Stephanie always makes a weird noise when she does an action? Haha. It was funny that Bondy's friends defended and helped her... until Stephanie threatened to fire anyone who stood in her way! LOL. I also loved the scenes where Stephanie had to appease Bondy and also when Stephanie was bullying Michael. A particular scene that I thought was amusing was when Michael held out his hand to escort Stephanie to her office. The way she walked reminded me of the walk that royal concubines do in the palace and Michael bent down and walked like a eunuch. This was particularily amusing because I had just finished 'War and Beauty' and her walk reminded me of Sheren Tang's 'Yu Fei.'

I found the plotline about 'Tung Mat Yuen' losing business very comical. Everyone looked so depressed. Haha. The only customers in the cafe were flies. Johnny and Helen were yelling at Nancy for being a bad owner and kicking her employees to the curve when she suffers from a little problem. Then they suggested that if they couldn't continue their cafe, maybe they could open a VCD shop. Haha. They are so greedy and always think of themselves. Nancy is the only employer who would be willing to hire and keep Johnny and Helen for so long. It was hilarious when they went to Steven's cafe to eat and acclaimed, "I can't believe it, but their food is so good. No wonder our cafe lost out to them." Hahaha. It was also funny how the prices for the expensive meals were so dirt-cheap. It was funny when the business was thriving again because Steven's cafe was closed.

So far, Steven's character hasn't said too much. But I'm interested in seeing more of him. I was cracking up when Steven just appeared in the family's apartment. Everyone was so shocked and believed he might be Nancy's son. Haha. It was funny that at first the family wanted to help him because they thought if he got his riches back, they could leech money off him. But then it turns out they would have to spend $50 million to get back $2 billion. Haha. If they had that money, why would they even need to help Steven? Hahaha. I felt bad when Steven realized that his uncle tricked him out of his fortune and that he had nothing now. He is a rich man and doesn't know how to do things without maids or servants. Steven's character is snobby and feels he is better than everyone else. He looked so depressed when he learned that his "good friends" were avoiding and laughing at him. Anyways, the first encounter with Steven and Linda at the beach was so funny. Steven's eyes were bulging out and Linda looked so scared. It's going to be hilarious watching their relationship blossom next week.

Again, excellent episodes. Really good and witty writing with many hilarious scenes.

No, I don't. I'm very happy and glad that VOH is not the long-running production for 2005. I feel sad after reading that they work from 6 AM-8 PM 7 days a week! I feel everyone needs a break and for the cast to take part in other series. They've given up a lot to work on VOH.

Although I wish there was more VOH, I feel content with what it has done. It's time to move on and let the show live on in our hearts.

Maybe in a few more years, they can get back together for a brand new storyline. But I definitely do not want another version. I want them to do something fresh and have different pairings. But I know if they do a fresh series next year, I couldn't take it cause I'll still remember Ah Yuet & Ah Lo, Ah Nin & Joey, Ah Yat & Ah Hong, Gam & Ying Gei, etc. Haha. So I won't accept such a new series so quickly. But a few years will be good. Plus, most audiences recognize VOH as TVB's long running production and if they put out another version, less people will be willing to watch it because they know it's going to be really long again and might have a similar plotline...

i was hoping that VOH II won't end so fast actually. Well, as I have said in an earlier post, they are bound to run out of ideas soon. Probably it is a good idea to end it anywayz. I really would like to thank them for the memories.

Still, I can always dream of a third VOH.
