My fav Superman adaptation is still Lois and Clark. While Dean Cain is a OK superman, he's wonderful as Clark. And Teri Hatcher is fantastic as Lois Lane of course.

For Smallville, well, I think the Smallville fans here are going to flame me. :P

1) Lana Lang is very *whiney*. If I were Clark and I have to choose between Lana and Chloe, I'd choose Chloe. It's a no brainer. And don't forget, Chloe is okay with aliens, but Lana fears them. Another indication that Clark and Lana were as right for each other as fire and water. If Clark ends up with Lana, Lana will tell him to suppress his heritage and be *normal*. Then where would Clark ever become Superman?

2) Clark is violent. Sort of. Other than his super powers, I see nothing of his character right now, that's going to let me believe that he's going to fight for truth, justice and the American way. I mean, if this Clark becomes a Super hero, he's going to remind me of Batman, you know, striking fear in the hearts of the people that he protect.

3) Jonathan and Martha. Do you find their relationship a little strange? You have essentially a husband that keeps yelling at his wife and a wife that is so afraid of her husband she keeps secrets from him. Clark was supposed to have grown up in a supportive family, with loving parents.

Smallville has deviated so much from the Superman universe, that I'm not going to be surprised if Clark never goes to Metropolis, and ends of with Lana Lang. Of course, this means that Superman will never come into existence.

My 2-cents worth. Don't flame me, please?

Do you guys think it's odd that you never really see Jonathan Kent actually farming anything? The only things I've see him do is either saw pieces of wood, drive around in his truck or put up fences. And I'm pretty sure I've seen Martha Kent going to buy groceries from a store. This leaves me to assume their "farm" is actually a growing ground for a certain "cash crop"...which would also explain why the Kents don't want to sell their land.
This sig is only temporary.

Hysteric, you make a good point. I guess they would be able to farm, if only Clark didn't fall on/break, etc. all the farm equipments.

You guys probably dont know this, but most farmers buy stuff outside cause they cant afford to eat their own. In the series, the farm is in trouble half the time and they need government subsidize to live---but stubborn Johnathan rather his family starve than ask help from the Gov.

Actually I hate Chloe--she is too curious and she digs to far into people's lives---although she likes Clark--her curiousity is holding back any deep long relation.

WB making Martha pregnant is weird cause you know they wont have the baby. Sorta sad.

According to comics, Lana Lang and Clark did have a history. Sorta hinted that they dated but separated when he left for Metropolis. In the old version of Superman, the actress who played Martha also played Lana in old version.

Yep, she is pregnant. One episode where they Martha inhales kryptonite and CLark uses the ship to heal her. Amazingly, Clark's ship has the power to heal and to destroy kryptonite--that is why Lana's necklace is clear now and not green. Somehow--at the end of last season--when the ship was activated it healed Martha and so she was able to conceive. When Martha landed in the hospital, Dr Bryce confirmed that she was pregnant. Amazing.

Thumbs up

I really don't care if the Series deviates from the Comics or the original stuff because the Smallville series is very intriguing with it's well written dialogues (usage of allusions and etc), filled with unpredictable twists, and of course THE SUAVE LEX LUTHER!!!!!! AHA HA HA HA!

Last time I watched it, Pete knows. And then in one episode where Clark is influenced by a red kryptonite, he becomes bad. And shows his secret to Chloe, who was turned bad too, by an alien parasite, but after that was removed, she forgot everything

Yeah, a couple of people knows Clarks identity.
1. the kid who can read people's mind--but he did of a tumour in his head.
2. clark's best friend, the black guy forgot his name
3. his parents--LOL
4. Dr Bryce sorta has a clue on whats happening but doesnt know he is an alien--only did blood test on Clark
5. And of course the original Superman--he guess appeared as a really smart scientist who knows about clark's identity--Clark was sent to conquer.

As the story progresses, I wonder if Lois Lane will guest star in Smallville. Also, for those who have read the original Superman comics, what happened to Lana Lang? I am surprised that there aren't as many Superman movies as there are Batman movies. I much prefer Superman to Batman.

Actually, between Superman and Batman, I much prefer Batman since he had no superhuman power except his brains and his own fighting skills that weren't with him since birth..Batman would be a more realistic hero in comparison with Superman.

I think in the original comics, after Clark Kent went to Metropolis, he and Lana drifted apart. One has to remember that when the comics were first written, telecommunications was still pretty backward.

Its difficult to introduce the Lois Lane character to the 'Smallville' series.

Lois represents Clark's life after Smallville, when he became Superman after going to Metropolis. For the Smallville producers to introduce Lois, it will mean that the part of Clark's life in Smallville is over. And the logical conclusion will then be to end the series.

In the movie and WB cartoon, Lana Lang made a couple of appearances. I have never read the comics--so wouldnt know.

Yeah, introducing Lois would mean===bye bye Smallville and Hello to Metropolis.

Do you think that this series will ever get to a point where Clark is living in Metropolis? Did the orginial Superman appear yet (the scientist) appear yet?

Clark Kent didn't go to Metropolis until he graduated from college I think. So we still got a few more years to go. If Lana Lang is this pretty, can't wait to see Lois Lane.

What about Chloe and Clark's friend, did they ever appear in the comics?
Also, isn't it weird that Lana Lang and Lois Lane's names have the initial of LL.
