My fav Superman adaptation is still Lois and Clark. While Dean Cain is a OK superman, he's wonderful as Clark. And Teri Hatcher is fantastic as Lois Lane of course.
For Smallville, well, I think the Smallville fans here are going to flame me. :P
1) Lana Lang is very *whiney*. If I were Clark and I have to choose between Lana and Chloe, I'd choose Chloe. It's a no brainer. And don't forget, Chloe is okay with aliens, but Lana fears them. Another indication that Clark and Lana were as right for each other as fire and water. If Clark ends up with Lana, Lana will tell him to suppress his heritage and be *normal*. Then where would Clark ever become Superman?
2) Clark is violent. Sort of. Other than his super powers, I see nothing of his character right now, that's going to let me believe that he's going to fight for truth, justice and the American way. I mean, if this Clark becomes a Super hero, he's going to remind me of Batman, you know, striking fear in the hearts of the people that he protect.
3) Jonathan and Martha. Do you find their relationship a little strange? You have essentially a husband that keeps yelling at his wife and a wife that is so afraid of her husband she keeps secrets from him. Clark was supposed to have grown up in a supportive family, with loving parents.
Smallville has deviated so much from the Superman universe, that I'm not going to be surprised if Clark never goes to Metropolis, and ends of with Lana Lang. Of course, this means that Superman will never come into existence. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">
My 2-cents worth. Don't flame me, please?
