well..from the comics i've seen, Chloe and Clark's friend don't appear in the comics. Lana doesn't appear either. She was only mentioned. Yea! It is weird! At first I was really confused and thought that Lana was Lois. I think they probably made it like that on purpose for some strange reason.

Christopher Reeves alraedy appeared a while ago on Smallville. Yep, 100% sure there is no mention of Chloe and Pete.

The character of Lana Lang was given a larger role in Superman and WB Superman---supposedly she is Clark's best friend and childhood sweetheart.

Actually, in the comics, Lana marries Pete. And Pete does NOT know about Clark's powers. I don't think it makes much of a difference though, since this show most likely will not tread into the adult Clark era....but it does make me think of how they are going to keep making up stories for it. I mean, once Dawson's Creek moved out of the highschool era I completely stopped watching and when I do see it, it seems like everything is all disconnected and stupid.

That would suck if Lana and Clark, in spite of their genuine affections for each other, will never be together, if WB follows the comic story. But maybe they'll surprise us with a Tess, coming to Smallville, and killing someone, then the teens have to go to space a la Roswell.

I haven't read the entire Superman comics but I know Lana Lang appears at least once. A few years back during the 'Death of Superman' instalment when Superman was killed by Doomsday, Lois, Lana and Clark's parents held a private secret memorial service for Clark since they are the only 4 people who knew that Clark and Superman are one and the same. No one else knew for sure that Clark was dead.

Hysteric you read the comics? Pete marries Lana--dont remember any of that. Dont even know if Pete exists in comics? I went to website and there was no mention of Pete only Lana and she was Clark's highschool/childhood sweetheart.

If true, Pete is too short for Lana.

Oops...my bad. I was referring to the comic AFTER the Death of Superman where Clark goes after doomsday who hasn't really died on the planet Chaos..or something..I read it a while ago, so I don't really remember. I know Lana is mentioned for sure, but...Pete and Chloe? Really? And Chloe is Lois Lane's cousin? Really? ...wow... <IMG SRC="smilies/yikes.gif" border="0">

wasnt the thing about doomsday aired on WB--superman gets captured and put as a symbol that doomsday will win..then the polic guy dies and superman breaks free. with the help of galactic something earth became protected by the group so doomsday left. dont know if it is close to the comics but superman didnt die.

i remember something in comics that superman did die but dont remember how although thats what the title was called--dont really know if he died or just a hoax.

now in batman beyond---superman guest stars as an old guy who is not with anyone--he is lonely but still does his job with the help of 4 other guys from the galactic thing.

i think u are referring to Darkside not Doomsday.
i think super die 2 times. the first one was before doomsday, forgot when, but he was brought back to life by someone. the second death was by doomsday. but he revived again. havent read superman comics for a long time, the last time i check was when superman turn into some kind of blue energy from guy.

While I don't actually read Superman comics, I have a friend who is quite into Smallville and told me Pete and Lana are married in the comic. After a bit of googling, I found that he was right.

The whole Superman dying thing just seemed stupid to me. I mean...he's Superman!

I vaguely remember there was a battle between Batman and Superman. Batman won the fight and I believe he killed Superman in the process. I haven't follow comic books for quite a [very] long time so not sure if this really happen. Maybe a search of google will answer this.

I'm not too excited about the idea of Pete and Lana. I mean, I would think Chloe would be the only likely one for him, if that even happened, but not Lana. No no no.

And maybe a way of introducing Lois Lane would be if Clark (college years) went to intern or a trip to Metropolis, and met her or something. But oh how sad <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

It's not low considering it's the only thing in the Universe that can kill Superman.
