Yup, he also said that he's quite lucky that each time the injuries didn't affect his face. Each time, it was either above the forehead or under the chin. During the last accident, he had a few cuts on the top of his head.

i did not think of the face thing..more of he recovered well from his injuries each time. but u made a very valid pt.
Le,
I notice you said you prefer DHTZ 2 more than one? I'll Like to know ur reaons....u finsih DHTZ 2 already?
actually from the songs, I can tell Long Piao will be a solid show.
btw, any idea why Qi zi jun ended up financing both sides for the war? I thot he would support only 1 side.
Yes, I finished DH II. Actually I've rewatched it several times already. I prefer DH II over I because it's more serious. It mostly concentrated on the court affairs. It also more close to the history than the first one. Also, Jiao Zhu's performance in the second one improved so much. He rarely have any moment of over acting.
From what I read from the fans who seen Long Piao. Long Piao seems to be a show where it require alot of patient and deep interpretation in order to get the message underneath the story. It is said to have high educational value. It's a very serious story.
Qi ended up finance both sides because while financing the war, he also earned great profits from them. He's a risk taker, therefore he's willing to do many things others can't.
Qi Zi Jun sounds like a shrew businessman! I have more comments..come back later....

and back....
but does that mean Qi Zi Jun is a person that is weak on morale values? if he is a man of dignity and respect, he should only support his side for the war, shouldn't he?
I prefer DHTZ1 because there was a good balance of court and personal stuff in the serial and there were several light-hearted moments bet liu che and his friends as well as with Wei zifu. I thot li che became so tempremental in part 2. He acted very well for part 1 especially in bringing across the childishness of the emperor. Part 1 also had Chen Dao ming's dong fang shuo, brillaint performance.
and the seral moved so much faster for part 1. I definitley prefer the ladies on part 1 as well. Ning Jing was just not compatible with HXM.
I look forward to Long Piao.
well, his character is not a totally good person. Both good and bad. Jiao Zhu thinks like the character so much because it display the true human nature. Human always have both sides, good and bad.
What you and I felt about DH 1&2 is basically also what every others' feelings. People who prefer DH 1 feels like you and people who prefer DH 2 feels like me. It's quite interesting, isn't it?
I also felt the same way about Ning Jing's Wei Zi Fu. I think this role just didn't fit her. I think she's good at playing strong and outgoing roles, but doesn't fit to play sweet, shy, and gentle roles. Her actions were too forceful. Felt very uncomfortable.
I look forward to Long Piao too. But I should warn you, do you think you can handle this series. This is a very sad and very serious series. And this series might also be dull if you don't have the patient. This series is considered as an intellectual series. Both him and his fans encourage people to watch this series with patient and calmness.
I think when we watch the show, we will form our own ideas if Qi zijun is more of a villain or good guy or like you say, a totally complex character which we can slowly dicipher for ourselves.
yes, its interesting that people see the same shows and end up with quite different likings. I am also curious as to the reasons you said that HXM acted very well for part 2 as in he did not overact. I think he acted well but but I feel that you really felt that he was really good in part 2...I am not in disagreement but it was not the 1st comment that struck me when I watch part 2..so I would like to know how you arrive to say and feel that he acted really well in part 2, more so than part 1.
Thanks for warning about Long Piao. I think I would definitely get it and see for myself how the serial is like.

No, I haven't watch truimph in the skies. I don't have membership with HK video stores anymore. I really don't like the TVB's nowadays series. Recently, I only watched one TVB's new series "Split Second" that my friend rented. At first I thought it was very good. I was all hyped up and thought finally TVB give out a good one. But then, toward the end I was disappointed. The way they end the series was bad. TVB doesn't seem to know how to end the stories they start. The story was pointless. So I really lost faith with them.
I get these shows on cable so...I just try serials that catch my eyes and continue with them if I find them interesting. so far..this serial is not bad.
The actress who is potraying princess in Long Piao. She was in "Guan Xi Wu Jie Dao" and fell in love with sweet little face.. *drools*Originally Posted by strawberry

Lady Zhuge,
How are you? Have you done watching Long Piao yet? Tell me what you think.
Happy New Year,
Chau Le.
Hi chaule! Happy holidays!
I finished watching "Long Piao" last night. I liked the series overall, but it was very sad and sometimes slow. Have you received the DVDs yet?

Thank you.
I still haven't receive it yet. I think it'll come either today or tomorrow. I'm really eager. How do you compare it to Da Han?
Right now, me and my mother are preparing our luggages for the trip back to VN on Jan 6th. We'll return to the US on Jan 25th.
Although "Long Piao" and DHTZ do have some similar aspects, they are pretty different overall, so it's difficult to compare the two. DHTZ had more of a lighthearted air whereas LP had a much more serious one. The ending song is so haunting. Mr. Su was like Qi Zi Jun's Dongfang Suo, but unlike the latter, even he was not infallible. In DHTZ, HXM played the absolute power. In LP, HXM played an underling whom, no matter how powerful he became or how successful his business developed, in the grand scheme of things, he was just a miniscule bug in the center of Duke Gong's and the Qing court's palm. If he's useful or has a purpose, he can be kept around, but if he's not.... The ending made things seem so hopeless, but it was very realistic given everything that had happened.

Hahaha. Finally, I've done watching Long Piao. This is a very good one. I enjoyed it the whole time. Now I'm confirmed that I like this even more than Da Han II. So now Long Piao is number one in my ranking of his works so far.
