Why are men not allowed to be in the same room as the woman in ancient time when she is giving birth?
ive seen this a lot in series/movies and i also read a few books where the men had to leave the room when their wife are giving birth. so why?

You've got a real problem if you can see intestines via the vaginal opening, baby or not. Being able to have sex would be the least of the problems.
I think there's superstition regarding bad luck if men were exposed to more "yin" or negative energy, like in childbirth.

You see red squishy rojak with fresh tomato juice I suppose you can still analyse your live biology on which portion of which is what? C'mon. It will appear all like intestines to you and there are indeed some cases where the large intestines of the lady "flowed" out during birth coz of complications during the development of foetus.I'm sure anyone's hubby won't want to entertain such awful thoughts
I'm not saying of able to have sex after birth or anything like that and you sort of misunderstand my meaning.Of coz,you can still have sex, your hubby can still have sex.But after watching your live giving birth and the stretching and tearing of your opening to reveal your inner beauty, you can never be sure whether your hubby has second thoughts of trying out his pole on you again.Unless he really loved your "inner beauty" so much and savor the excitement of your spurting rojak

Maybe some hubbies are just there to create more problems and complications. You have to knoe some men are just stupid hands stupid legs And no matter which end you're at,you will still be privileged to watch a live horror show.Choose the screaming head or the red rojak both are R21.
because men proved to be a nuisance rather than help j/k
it is not a matter of why, but where. the thing is when you have a midwife or company, the husband and unmarried person should stay away in order for the process went naturally and leave it for those who are experienced in birthing. in the event when a woman is without midwife or company eg early delivery or vice versa, then the husband or any person (who happened to be around) has to be with her and do what instinctively, regardless experienced or not. hey, didnt CMK's father was with YSS when CMK about to announce his timely or rather, untimely arrival?? and Cheong senior was there to welcome cheong junior, if i remember correctly - err wait, no, cheong was fighting with the lion to prevent the latter from harming his crying shouting yelling screaming wife. but he was present, when the little wishy washy gave his first whimsy cry.
back to the topic, it is ok to witness birthing process both in ancient or present time depending the circumstances. i failed to see what cultural stuff or taboo thingy when it comes to such situation, do you? oh, minus the lion of course
1) Please use appropriate language, SPCNET's visitors may includes minors, and an appropriate language at all times is needed.
2) You may get perineal tear, but even third degree perineal tear will never cause your intestines to come out - where do you even get such an information?

just to scare you minors from making babies anytime soon, here's a little story i'd like to relate. my aunt's cousin had a child, her second. the baby started coming shoulder first, and instead of doing a C-section, they let the child just tear her apart. for the pain, they gave her an epidural, and let an intern administer it. he apparently injected it too high, and she was knocked out for 3 days. after a couple of months, the baby's at home, but she was still feeling pain. she went back to the doctor and they found some gauze up in there that they forgot to take out, and her flesh had healed over it. so she had to get that removed.
second story, a doctor friend of a friend said he was delivering a baby, and he yanked, and accidentally broke the baby's leg. O_o

Well, although the...er, final outcome is very different, physiologically speaking, childbirth (I imagine) is a bit similar to being constipated with the largest stool *ever*. Just as a woman wouldn't want her husband (or any other man) with her in the toilet, she probably doesn't necessarily want him there while she's giving birth.
that's a really nice way to refer to the miracle of life.

Which country was that in? It's unusual that the intern does the anesthetizing. Only residents and above are allowed to do that in the USA and Australia. They have to do counts for everything. If they didn't do surgery I'm assuming the gauze was for hemostasis, perhaps with some superficial suturing. Not very nice. She could have gotten septic from that.
Meh, babies heal fast. Their bones get sticky in about 10 days. It'll be as good as new. Poor thing though ... it's gotta hurt. Not much you can do about that. Such are the forces required to squeeze the little bugger through the birth canal.
There have been very rare cases of fistula formation between the intestines and the uterus when there is extensive damage. However, it is still unlikely you will see intestines squeezed through the vagina. Fecal contents maybe.
