Slow, draggy, amusing, sorrowful and nice. ^^
It's Dong ji lian ge and the English's name is Winter Sonata. Just a correction. No hard feelings.
This drama has more than one name.
I have to agree with guo xiang about the slowness. The things I don't like outweights the things I like. Overall, don't really like it even if Bae Yong Jun is in it.
But the actors and actresses did very well. In fact I find it better than Autumn (even though Autumn has a better script) because of the super actors/actresses and themes. Watching Winter Sonata just made you feel like Autumn might have a better script but the actors picked for it are kind of bad. Maybe except for Won Bin who did quite well as a loser in love. ^^;;;

Yeah, if I hate a character that means they did their part well right? <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> But I think the plot have potential. If they take out the draggy parts and spice it up then I just might like it more than Autumn.
Sure. In the end, we are just waiting to see if Junsang and Yujin got together or not. Too plain. Junsang might as well die. XP
Exactly! It might be better if he did and I think he's suppose to but the public wanted happy ending..
maybe too many people complained when Junxi and Enxi died...
This serie is ok... but I like Endless Love a little bit more ! Can't wait to see "Spring Sonata" that will be in production very soon !!!
Currently watching:
(TVB): Many @ this time to name... ^^
(Korean): None

Couldn't sleep last night and dug out the 'Winter Sonata' DVD again...
I felt that the female lead looks better with each viewing. She looks very sweet and very nice and is exactly the type of girl you would want to marry. (Ok, I am starting to sound like a psycho.)
I remember when I saw her on screen for the first time, my first impression of her wasn't that positive. I thought she looked rather plain and not suitable to play a lead role. But her look 'grows' on you. The more you look at her, the more attractive she seems.
Although she's not drop dead gorgeous, she's very pleasant on the eyes. Extremely pleasant.

i totally agree with you Yun_Feiyang. When i first saw her in the series, I had the same impression you did... but like you said her looks really starts to bloom. Most of the cast in winter sonata was Great! What can I say.. they bring out the positive aspect of this series. BY the way there is a k-drama coming soon called Spring Sonata? Is it like a sequel to winter sonata, same cast? or just a totally different drama? Pls let me know coolnuker Thanks!

I don't think Spring Sonata will be a direct sequel to Winter Sonata. It's probably just another series directed by the same director under a similar name.
I quite like Winter Sonata so far (I'm up to the 7th episode). I think this show has more potential than Autumn's Tale. This series emphasizes on 'first love' and 'first times' for everything. I like the theme a lot. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
I thought that the female lead, Choi Ji Woo was cute in the beginning when she was still in high school. But then after episode 2, the "10 years later" part, I thought she looked absolutely hideous in that haircut.
Why couldn't they just leave her with long hair. <IMG SRC="smilies/angrystick.gif" border="0"> But yes, she will grow on you. She has a very angelic and sweet face.
Choi Ji Woo didn't grow on me at all. She was cute in the beginning but went downhill with short hair. The only person growing on me was Bae Yong Joon.. hehehe...
Pinepine, I would like to hear what you think of it after you're finished watching it. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">
I love the snowy scenery and Chi Ji Woo. But I never finish the story, I can't stand the story and BYJ hair. Like a lion mare. I like his hair better in Hotelier. Conventional. he,he,he... no offense to BYJ fans.
Spring Summer Autumn Winter.
Pair ducks nest fly together.
Clemencies. Summer life, feather winter white.
Green meadow in spring, before the autumn bite.
Watching the red gown.
And none else, alone.

Hehe. Sure I promise <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> I usually do have a lot of rantings/praises after I'm done with each series.
Agree with eeyore. Whoever thought winter was such a great season for romance? The snowy scenery was excellent. <IMG SRC="smilies/thumbsup.gif" border="0">
yeah, i never got around to watching the end either. it got too boring. i think i was at the part where they're stuck up on the ski lift house place... and her bf comes up and finds her and BYJ there.. somethin like that.
i really liked the snowy scene too!! it was toooooo pretty!!! like when they pushed the two snowmen together? that was kute.
hiya guys!!!i'm a newbe here...i juz wanna know the winter sonata theme song lyrics..has anyone know it juz send to my e-mail [email protected] thank you.. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
WS has an excellent beginning up until the group of friends bidded JoonSang's final farewell. The script just goes downhill from that point on. The way Yujin and MinHyung fell in love for the second time was unconvincing. From then on the plot got more and more twisted, and the pace slower and slower. I could not bear to finish the series if not for JiWoo, whom I like.
Why? After all, its natural that she'll be attracted to him because he looks like her first love.Originally posted by Titanic

The idea is right, but not the script, and the acting. I think the script is more to blame. Especially compared to the first time they fell in love, the second time was just so much less endearing. The way MinHyung changed his mind about Yujin on the back of some stupid fortune telling (and the accident) is just so lame. And I also don't like how he handled his whole relationship with Chae Lin.
