Who has reached "Sword God" status in the JY world? I can think of Dugu Qiubai, perhaps Ling Wu Chong, and maybe Yang Guo. How would they fare against the top swordsman in the GL world? Sai Mun Chiu Shuet, Ding Pang, Sword 13, etc.

Aside from the barely possible figure of DGQB (primarily because he's an almost mythical character in JY), any and all JY swordsman would be creamed by the likes of Yan Shisan, who literally froze time according to Gulong.
I think they have a much, much better chance against the likes of Ximen Chuixue.

I think GL's guys wins hands down. They can :
1.) Retcon the Universe : Ye Gucheng
2.) Turn the Universe Upside Down : Carefree Marquis
3.) Freeze Time and Space : Yan SHisan
4.) Strike Faster than the Speed of Light, Surpass the Limit of Speed : Fu Hongxue
5.) Always win because his heart is righteous : Li Tanhua
Its BIxie Jianfa Gawdammit you guys!!!!
Ah, but remember; if DG9J faces Yan Shisan, then even if it is frozen, it will be frozen in such a surprising position that if Yan Shisan were to attack, he would find that the enemy's sword was cleverly positioned pre-freezing so that it would pierce him right before he pierced the enemy.

And apparently Zhang Sanfeng (a part-time Jin Yong swordsman) can accomplish any task as his heart desires (some known restrictions apply, including healing, calming, and saving lives).

Here's the real difference though, between JY and GL; with JY, we (the readers) pluck various gems of quotes and twist them out of context for our amusement; with GL's quotes, I think we're taking them in the exact f'ing context which GL himself takes them in. When JY says that Xu Zhu can't be disadvantaged, it's primarily rhetorical, but when Gulong is saying that Yan Shisan froze the universe, I really think he actually means it.

Ye Gucheng kinda let him win.

The exact opposite is implied in the text.
1) In Jinyong and Gulong, if a person is a 'hair' slower, then it means once they get stabbed, they lose/are dead/whatever, be it due to their strength being gone, going numb, etc. Think about all those LHC scenes where he and an enemy are in a position which look almost identical, but because LHC's sword is just a fraction closer due to DG9J, he was going to come out alive and his enemy dead. This is the same case here. By the time his sword would have 'touched' Ye Gucheng's chest, Ye Gucheng's sword would already be 'in' his throat. It was only at this moment did Xi Men Chui Xue realize his strike was ever so slightly slow, by the time the tip of his sword touches Ye Gu Cheng's chest, Ye Gu Cheng's sword would surely have pierced through his own throat.
This fate was one that he could no long accept.
But he suddenly also discovered that Ye Gu Cheng's strike was slightly off target, maybe by no more than a centimeter or two, but that was the difference between life and death.
How could this error have happened?
Was it because Ye Gu Cheng knew that for him, there was no difference between life and death?
The blade of the sword is ice cold.
The ice cold blade of the sword pierced through Ye Gu Cheng's chest, he could almost feel the sword tip touching his heart.
Soon after, he felt a strange pain, like the pain he felt when he watched his first love die of sickness on her bed.
It was not just pain, but also horror, disappointment, and hopelessness.
Because he knew, everything joyous and beautiful in his life was about to end in this one instant.
But he felt no hatred towards Xi Men Chui Xue, only an unexplainable gratefulness.
For at this last instant, Xi Men Chui Xue's sword slowed down too. He was prepared to retract this fatal strike.
Ye Gu Cheng could tell.
He could tell that Xi Men Chui Xue did not want to kill him, but nevertheless did. For Xi Men Chui Xue knew that he wanted to die under this blade.
- If death is certain, then why not die under Xi Men Chui Xue's blade?
- To be able to die under Xi Men Chui Xue's blade is, at least, so much more honourable than dying under the blade of others.
Xi Men Chui Xue understood how he felt, so he granted his wish.
2) Ye Gucheng was going to die regardless of the result of this duel, and so he let XMCX win, because even if he (YGC) won, the guardsmen would still kill him; this directly implies that if he won, he would still be alive, so this was definitely not a Mutual Destruction situation.
3) Even if I'm totally not making sense, that doesn't change the fact that YGC still let XMCX win, so in no way is he 'superior' to YGC, at least at that point in the story . XMCX was 'at best' YGC's equal, whereas YGC was 'at least' XMCX's equal.
Sorry Ken, no love for the Snow Blower here :'( He's not greater than the power of retcon-no-jutsu.

Sorry to burst your bubble here. JY's references to Xuzhu and Z3F meant that there is nothing they can't do without success. Instead of cannot be disadvantaged.
无往而不立
无往 = no desire, no wish... as in 向往
而不立 = unsuccessful... as in 胜利,成立.
Hence it actually means no wish can be unsuccessful.
Just a bit of fun fact.

But it would also infer
One who cannot get sick unless he wants to.
One who cannot die unless he wants to.
One who can punch a tree without hurting if he wants to.
One who can pee in public without penalty if he wants to.
etc etc...
How do we decide which inferred idea to use? Why use an inferred idea instead of the actual thing anyway?
