Dead as a doorknob I'm guessing. I doubt they were practitioners, the only way they could have survived is by not being in the palace.

Could someone remind me exactly how strong are these 10-12th stage loose immortals compared to people who still have their physical bodies? Was it 4th-12th loose = 1st-9th standard immortal? What happens to a 12th level loose immortal when it clears the tribulation? Also does Qin Yu team stand any chance if they wanted to dish out some revenge?

Well it says the roar covers most but not all of the palace. I guess it's highly unlikely the most important people would be anywhere near the edges of the palace though... Hopefully they were on a trip.

The 10-12th stage loose immortal is equivalent to 7-9th level standard immortal. After 12th tribulation, they ascent to Golden Immortal/Devil. Qin Yu himself doesn't stand a chance but he has the sword energy puppet which is 1-9th level golden immortal based on how many top grade elemental holy ore he feeds it. And yeah..Most of those people in there are dead. Even if those prince and princesses are practitioners, none of them had reached Jindan stage. A jindan stage alone can kill thousands of normal people at ease so imagine a 7-9th level immortal.
