Synopsis:

My Sassy Girl is an extremely successful Korean movie (2001): not only did the movie earn not less than six different awards but it was also made to an American remake, a Japanese TV series and a Bollywood production. The story begins with a male college student Gyeon-woo (Cha Tae-Hyun) saving a drunk girl (Jun Ji-hyun) from falling under the train. This accident sparkles a strange and abusive relation with the regularly drunk Girl, who is never named in the entire film, being a true Xanthippe for the all-enduring Gyeon-woo. The characters separate and reunite for a number of times, passing through romantic ups and downs. Only later on does Gyeon-woo learns about the reasons for the Girl's behaviour: he reminds her of her late boyfriend. As the time passes the Girl starts to realize how much does Gyeon-woo mean for her. Surprisingly it turns out that the dead boyfriend's mother is Gyeon-woo's aunt that tried to match him with the Girl. The movie ends with Gyeon-woo and the Girl going to the bar together.

Cast: Jeon Ji Hyun- "The Girl" Cha Tae Hyun- Kyun Woo Due to the amazing ratings on this movie, I was expecting a very good film, and that's what I got. It wasn't a WOW film, but definitely a good one, though not as excellent as I expected. Although this film was very good, it lacked some things that I would expect in a film that got as high ratings as this one. PLOT: (SPOILERS) This story is about...

A very popular movie which was remade into an American film by the same name - one which, in this case, I prefer. I had a hard time deciding whether I liked this one or not, because of the extremes of the 'sassy girl'. Sure, the bossiness could be funny, but quite often it would go to nasty, violent and humiliating extremes. I found it hard to laugh at the girl bashing up her boyfriend and storming off like a little child when he won't wear high heels.

This movie was really sad! I hope that he found the girl in the end, but if it's based on a true story then it's unlikely they ever met again. This movie made me cry...

i didnt like the beginning as well, was kinda slow...

halfway, i was expecting the girl to have cancer or what, typical Korean drama/movie, i thought... but of coz, have to finish the story..

thank god i did, coz the ending is so nice and lovely... happy ending, so definately a must see Korean movie, though its 7 years old.. but the story ending is the best i've seen so far in korean movie (have just watched about 5 movies though, haaa)

Highly recomended...

I find the story so interesting! The lead characters did a great job in their role. There are lots of touchy scenes, a heart warming one! I like it!

I kind of thought My Sassy Girl was sad because if it was based on a true story, then it most likely means he never found her in the end...
