The Key Man
The Key Man 1992

"This must be Tse Leung’s best drama besides ‘Blood of good and evil’. "

I don't think that Alex Man was in Blood of Good and Evil...

Anyway, this is a great series.

To Grow With Love
To Grow With Love 2006

Agreed with it all. Although I would have perhaps given it a 2/5...maybe. It had it's moments, I thought Kenneth Ma was fantastic, same with Gigi Wong (the landlady). But Fei Tin was just selfish, bratty and annoying, and I couldn't even bring myself to watch the last part where they were romancing because she had blatantly stole someone's boyfriend and seemed to feel pretty good about it all.

The Dance of Passion
The Dance of Passion 2006

Good review =) There's lots of things I agree with, and at the same time, lots that I disagree with ;)

"I have never really liked Maggie Siu....even comes off as cold and unfriendly in real life."

Just thought I'd point out, she only really seems to be like that in front of the media. And with the way that the media hassle people, I think it's just her way of coping. If you'd ever seen situations where she's around people she's familiar with (ie. on radio shows, one-on-one interviews, on-set), she seems very approachable. And certainly every fan who's met her has said so!

Jewel in the Palace (Dae Jang Geum)
Jewel in the Palace (Dae Jang Geum) 2003

I found that some of the actors/actresses who I thought were quite disappointing, were actually quite good when I listened to the original sounds rather than the cantonese dubbing.

Jang Geum's parents were horrible with the dubbing, but if their scenes were watched in Korean, it was brilliant! I eventually switched to watching the whole thing in Korean and reading the Chinese subtitles. It really makes it noticeable how a vital part of "acting" is really speaking.

Otherwise I enjoyed half of this series. But it really was too long for my liking. I kind of stopped after Lady Han died.

The Academy
The Academy 2005

I originally watched the series for Ron, and I quite like Tavia too. I thought it might be interesting to see Fiona act for the first time, and how she would fare with Sammul.

As the series progressed, I stopped enjoying the four of them at all, and I became a huge fan of Michelle Yim, Michael Miu, Chin Ka Lok, Koo Kei Kwan, and Chan Hoi Kei (the cadet called "Ling").

I *hated* the ending. I wouldn't have minded any of the other characters died. Just leave Ivy and Sunny alone! Otherwise, I thought the series was a little long and winding, but it was pretty acceptable.
