Detective Investigation Files II 1996
Still the most compelling TVB police detective drama yet and for me the best in the series. Every role, from the main players to the lesser known hacks, played their parts to perfection. The criminal cases and murders are well-conceived and keep you guessing pretty much right until the very end. Michael Tao and Kenix Kwok have so much chemistry together, they are definitely up there for the greatest couple created in TVB history.

The Greed of Man 1992
Highly memorable and deeply moving series, with an unforgettable main cast ensemble. It definitely stood out amongst the mediocre action, wuxia and crime drama fluff churned out process-line-like during that time. This one actually had meaning and a purpose in its production. It's didactic and very inspirational.
Many TVB series can also be bogged down with story arcs that make so many twists and diversions, you almost forget how it started by the end of it all (Man in the Net I'm looking at you). However, with this one, it's much more comprehensible and easier to visualise the overall path of the story.
There are some flaws which held it back from being a perfect series in my eyes, but if you want a riveting and engrossing piece of drama, The Greed of Man surely won't disappoint.
