When The Heart Finally Sang

“Did you review for our test in Algebra?” asked Edward.
“Yes, I did.” Jane replied.
“Yes, you did, I know, but are you not gonna give me a smile for this day?”
“What do you mean?”
“Ever since Joe quitted to your band, you seem worried, I know and I can tell. I have met you since our childhood years. And you can’t hide anything from me. I even know what are you thinking right now.”
“You dare! Predict what I’m thinking now.” Jane said, changing the topic.
“Hmm… I think, you’re hungry!”
“Wrong guess!”
“Hungry or not, I’m going to treat you at the cafeteria. You know, my stomach seems stumbling!”
“All right!”

While they were crossing the cafeteria, people were staring at them.
“Here come the geeks!” Charlotte teased. Her voice echoed with the boos from the crowd.
“Stop, Charlotte. They have done nothing against you. So, won’t you please discriminate them? Just for this day?” Robin whispered, with a humble tone.
“Robin, people like them don’t belong to this place and are disgusting! Eeeww!”
“You know, you are more disgusting than them!” Robin exclaimed.
“What?!!” Charlotte questioned.
“Believe it or not, I admire those people, those students whom you think are geeks.”
“Never mind. Those people are not worth our time. By the way, what are you wearing for the prom tomorrow night?” asked Charlotte.
“Whatever I will wear won’t affect my decision.” Robin dignified.
“What decision? Deciding without my opinion, no way!”
“Whatever happens, I won’t be dating you. Charlotte, you have changed. You’re not the Charlotte I have met before. You became proud, selfish and self-centered. I’m sorry if I hurt you. I’m just telling the truth. Think twice of you being admired by people. Living a simple life is better.”
“What are you talking about? Okay, I have to go now. My friends are waiting. See you at the prom night!”
Charlotte went gone, realizing Robin’s words. Sure he was right. But I’m enjoying my fame now, my friends. But are they my real friends…
