Chapter 1: Chapter 1- A new life, a new family, a disaster

America: 2007
The snow blurted down, the trees are white. Cold wind brushing on her cheek. America is totally different from Hong Kong.
Tears ran down on her cheeks. Ming-Ming really misses the days that she spends with Lam back home. She remember when the weather turns cold, he will take of his coat and pull it around her body.
She knows she can’t think of him anymore, she is a woman with a husband and a young child already, everything back than will just only be her past, a part of her forgotten memories. She tightens the coat and walks back to her house, she open the door and slips in searching for some warmth.
She quickly wipes her tears and starts her way to the kitchen. “I have to be stronger; I love my family don’t I? I have to forget everything about my past.” Ming-Ming promises to herself, but deep down in her heart, she will miss Chi Lam. She still loves him, she knows the thing that will hide her true feelings is work hard and be with Hiu Chung and Jackie more.
HongKong:2007
At this time of the year, Hong Kong is not that cold, but cool, Lam pull on his light coat and drive to a bar near house.
After the day Ming-Ming got married with Hiu Chung, he has been drinking a lot. He was the one who gave Ming-Ming away to Chung, and now, after learning that Ming-Ming has never betrayed him at work or in love life, he felt so bad.
Now all he wants is Ming-Ming to come back, but he doesn’t know where she lives yet. So he asks his best friend who is a detective to check on Ming-Ming.
As he drives, the memories from days to days with Ming-Ming plays in his head like a movie. She was so lovely, she's always caring. HE remember that day, where the misunderstood happen, he has slap her really hard and yell at her to leave in the church during their wedding.
Hiu Chung was the only one who ran after her and comfort her, he clench his hand into a fist, his eyes are feel with tears. What he did, he couldn't stand but feeling guilty.
America: 2007
“Congratulation Chung,” “You get promote again.” “The boss really likes you, we will miss you.” “Come on you guys, I won’t be gone so long.” Chung said as he shook everyone hands.
“I think Ming-Ming will be so happy if she heard that you get promote to Hong Kong for our company over there.” “I think Ming-Ming will love it.” Another friend of him said.
“What about Jackie? Will he be ok?” “Jackie really loves Hong Kong, last time we went back for a visit, Jackie always want to go back. He will be fine if we move there.” Chung said.
He is really happy himself too. He really loves Ming-Ming and Jackie, he knows that Ming-Ming always miss Hong Kong, so knowing that they’re moving back he is really happy.
“Honey I am home!” Chung put his back pack down and ran into the kitchen; he put his arms around her waist than kiss her cheek.
“Hi honey,” Ming-Ming smiles at him. Chung turns her around and gave her a kiss on the lip. “You look so happy today. What happen at work?” “Ming-Ming, you’re always could tell when I am happy. OK, I get promote back to Hong Kong!” Chung smiles brightly, but Ming-Ming’s face lit down a bit, “What? You’re not happy?” he looks into her eyes, “No…No, I mean I am really happy I don’t know what to say.”
But she could hear and feels her heart ripping into pieces. Why now, why do I have to come back now. She heard her soul asking.
“That’s good; I thought you’ll be happy too. Let’s tell Jackie.” “Oh, he’s still at mother’s house. He’s staying over there tonight.” “OH, than when will Jackie be home?” “I will pick him up tomorrow.” “Tomorrow is my last day at work, boss has also order the tickets for us, and we’ll be going in a month.” Chung said, “Really? That’s fast.” “Yeah, the company over there really needs help. The stocks are bad, so I need to go over as quick as I can.” “Will we come back here, or…?” “I don’t know, boss said maybe I have to stay there and take care of that company forever, or come back, he haven’t learn about that yet.” Ming-Ming signed and nodded.
“We're having soup and lemon chicken tonight. Why don’t you go take a shower and than eat honey.” Ming-Ming change the subject, “Ok, you too, after finish cooking, take a shower; I want to go out shopping today for needed stuff.”
Ming-Ming nodded, and pushes her husband to the stairs, she kisses him and than walks back to the kitchen, and now, she could let her tears float. She has been holding it in for long.Her heart rang with the sad tone, she could tell it's bleeding. She is starting to forget everything, but why now they have to move back.
“Ming-Ming, what do you think of this suitcase? Good?” Chung waited for the answer, “Ming-Ming…” he spotted his wife staring at her foot, her face look sad, he went over and shook her, “Ming-Ming!” she quickly look up, “Yes?” “Are you ok? You look out of mind today honey.” “No, I am fine; I am just having a headache. Don’t worry about me. What did you say about the suitcase?” she starts touching it and try the zippers, Chung is worry.
He came over and put his hand on her shoulder, “Ming-Ming are you sure? You don’t look that happy, did I do something wrong?”
“No, no, I just don’t feel well.” “Ok, than let us go home, we’ll buy the suitcase later. You need to get some rest.” He pulls her hand and walk out the store.
Ming-Ming shook her head and look at her husband, sorry Chung, I always worry you. She said to herself. Suddenly she pulls his hand and wrapped her arms around him, she lean against his chest. He smiles and puts his arms around her shoulder, “What happen?” he asks gently, she shook her head, “I just want to rest a little bit.”
Everytimes, Chung always there for her when she is sad. When she dates Chi Lam, they always fight, even over a small thing, of course they work together in a big company they fight a lot. And Chung was always the one who talk them back together. He was Ming-Ming's childhood friend, but Ming-Ming to him wasnt only that, she was a princess, a really special person that he always put in his heart. He has loves her for so long. But he didnt dare to show his love when he found out that Ming-Ming is dating his co-worker chi Lam. All he could do was being a friend, he would talk and comfort her whenever she needed
After stepping out from the bathroom, Chung found Ming-Ming laying on the bed, he came over, Ming-Ming quickly close her eyes, she don’t know why but she just don’t want to face him now. He smiles and bends down to kiss her cheek. He turns off the light and climbs on the bed, he pull the blanket up and tucks it under Ming-Ming’s chin. HE put his hand on her waist and closes his eyes. Ming-Ming reopen her eyes, she lies there looking at the ceiling until she is sure that Chung is asleep, she remove his arm from her waist and step out side.
Ming-Ming went to the balcony and sat down on the swing, she looks at the full moon and sign. She got out her phone, Lam’s phone number was the first one on her list, and she hasn’t forgotten him yet. “I am sorry Chung.” Accidentally she presses the call button; she gasps but it too late, “Hello? Who is it?” Ming-Ming eyes got watery when she heard the warm familiar voice, tears quietly rolls down on her cheek, “Chi Lam!” Ming-Ming says softly without even notice. “Ming-Ming? Is it you Ming-Ming? Answer me!” Ming-Ming quickly shut the phone. She buried her face into her hands.
Hong-Kong: 2007
“Ming-Ming, answer me!” Chi Lam yells into the phone, but the line was already dead, he turn it off and push it aside, Chi Lam feel somehow happy, she has finally call him, but will she forgive what he did?

“Honey I am home!” Chung put his back pack down and ran into the kitchen; he put his arms around her waist than kiss her cheek.
“Hi honey,” Ming-Ming smiles at him. Chung turns her around and gave her a kiss on the lip. “You look so happy today. What happen at work?” “Ming-Ming, you’re always could tell when I am happy. OK, I get promote back to Hong Kong!” Chung smiles brightly, but Ming-Ming’s face lit down a bit, “What? You’re not happy?” he looks into her eyes, “No…No, I mean I am really happy I don’t know what to say.”
But she could hear and feels her heart ripping into pieces. Why now, why do I have to come back now. She heard her soul asking.
“That’s good; I thought you’ll be happy too. Let’s tell Jackie.” “Oh, he’s still at mother’s house. He’s staying over there tonight.” “OH, than when will Jackie be home?” “I will pick him up tomorrow.” “Tomorrow is my last day at work, boss has also order the tickets for us, and we’ll be going in a month.” Chung said, “Really? That’s fast.” “Yeah, the company over there really needs help. Good?” Chung waited for the answer, “Ming-Ming…” he spotted his wife staring at her foot, her face look sad, he went over and shook her, “Ming-Ming!” she quickly look up, “Yes?” “Are you ok? You look out of mind today honey.” “No, I am fine; I am just having a headache. Don’t worry about me. What did you say about the suitcase?” she starts touching it and try the zippers, Chung is worry.
He came over and put his hand on her shoulder, “Ming-Ming are you sure? You don’t look that happy, did I do something wrong?”
“No, no, I just don’t feel well.” “Ok, than let us go home, we’ll buy the suitcase later. You need to get some rest.” He pulls her hand and walk out the store.
Ming-Ming shook her head and look at her husband, sorry Chung, I always worry you. She said to herself. Suddenly she pulls his hand and wrapped her arms around him, she lean against his chest. He smiles and puts his arms around her shoulder, “What happen?” he asks gently, she shook her head, “I just want to rest a little bit.”

She got out her phone, Lam’s phone number was the first one on her list, and she hasn’t forgotten him yet. “I am sorry Chung.” Accidentally she presses the call button; she gasps but it too late, “Hello? Who is it?” Ming-Ming eyes got watery when she heard the warm familiar voice, tears quietly rolls down on her cheek, “Chi Lam!” Ming-Ming says softly without even notice. “Ming-Ming? Is it you Ming-Ming? Answer me!” Ming-Ming quickly shut the phone. She buried her face into her hands.

“Ming-Ming, answer me!” Chi Lam yells into the phone, but the line was already dead, he turn it off and push it aside, Chi Lam feel somehow happy, she has finally call him, but will she forgive what he did?
