Storyline

Xia Min Jin was a girl who lived in poverty. She learnt to love money, since she had none. She grew up wanting and valuing money and she dreamed she would marry a rich man in the future. For she believed happiness is with a man who can give her what she wants. In the beginning, she managed to steal a suitcase full of money and escapes, also leaving her father behind. Using all the money she gained, she went to get laser surgery to completely cure her eyes, enriching her with perfect eyesight. Getting a makeover completed the whole transformation to becoming a beautiful young lady. Min Jin became a beautiful "princess" who thought that one day she would find her prince. If he didn't come to her, she would go and search for him.

During this time, Shen Yong Hao was working at a station (astronomy association) and just so happened to discover a new star, and he intended to name it after his girlfriend.

While Min Jin was going to dinner dates with her 3 other best friends, to meet 4 guys, her intentions were to pick out 1 of the 4 that met up to her expectations. Which obviously in her terms was the richest man.

Yong Hao was in joy running to tell his girlfriend his new found star news. But she had her own news to say: she had to break up with him. She drove 7 hours to say what she needed to say, face-to-face rather than over the phone. 'They weren't going to work out'. Yong Hao's girlfriend died as she was driving home from telling him, because she got into an accident. Yong Hao was devastated and torn between the loss of his love and being guilty as he thought he had a share of responsibility for what happened. He then chose to leave his work and leave where he lived now.

Yong Hao and Min Jin's paths crossed in one of Min Jin and her friends'? dinner dates to meet guys. This just happened to be the one where Yong Hao got dragged along and suited up by his 3 friends, all pretending to be doctors. As Yong Hao was leaving (since he was a cake deliverer) to deliver to his top customer (aka the man he was in debt with), Min Jin was late so as Yong Hao was leaving, Min Jin was walking in. It struck Yong Hao how much Min Jin looked like his girlfriend (yes the one who died).

There, the story blossomed.

An evaluation of each actors and actress? work:

Kim Hee Sun as Xia Min Jin I find her the prettiest Korean actress, which was what sparked my interest in this series. It was a change seeing a pretty female lead's face. She looked young too and from what I hear her and her character's ages are the same. So physically she fitted in well. Now for my acting criteria on Kim Hee Sun. At first she made her character come to life, and her portrayal in the beginning was what made her excel. But as the story started to grow, her character of course changed. And that was where her skills started to fail. Also seeing her with Ko Soo was a little weird since she is a little older than him, or maybe it was because Ko Soo's character was so 'clueless' it didn't feel right. I'll wrap this up, Kim Hee Sun needs to work on her crying scenes, happy scenes, and scenes where she just feels pain. Everything she did seemed all fake. In the beginning though, she did manage to make you know when she was using her ways to get guys, which seemed highly pretentious and then there were times where you could tell maybe she did fall in love and didn't realize. But near the end she lost everything. It all seemed too superficial and she didn't actually love him.

Ko Soo as Shen Yong Hao In the beginning I didn't find him so annoying but I started finding his used "to be cute personality and ways trying to get Min Jin to like him, manageable" into being so angry with him. Soon later, it became annoying and really stupid. And I mean stupid as in, his always clueless face not being able to express a personality that a person who's suited to win the chair of assistant manager of the company (Suny). His face can show happiness although I don't know why he couldn't express being happy when he finally had Min Jin. Was he in love? Or not? I don't know if it was his character, but I strongly believe it was Ko Soo himself, the guy looked dumb. How could he be so stupid as to how he got out of jail, got the chip, and where Min Jin was at the end? Ko Soo's facial expressions didn't help matters. He just made the character kind of annoying and annoyingly dazed. But I give props on not losing his ?character? throughout, or his ?vibe?.

(Yong Hao and Min Jin)

Son Chang Min as Wen Dong Kui At first glance, he seemed okay with Hee Sun. The 2 looked all right, at first glance. Then as you look more and more, the guy looked a little too old. I remember that face he made in the beginning when he didn't know about Min Jin's past yet, that face, he looked innocent. And I have to say, a little sweet also. I found his character to be charming and not much of a snob rich kid on the block, because he looked like a little kid and his crush. So it worked well for me. Him showing his anger was good, but showing his pain was not so well. There are two kinds of anger, one that makes the people around you scared, or one that doesn't. And his scared me a little, and I thought for the series was appropriate. I'm guessing in the series, Dong Kui turns into this mad man, but not as bad. He did decent, but could have taken it a step further. At the end, he lost all his sweetness and cute touch. In the ending him being sorry and trying to make up for everything he did was so blah I didn't accept. It looked like since the series was coming to an end, he stopped trying and just wanted to sleep. But I did enjoy his scenes where he was being mean to Yong Hao, and rubbing in his face how rich he was and how poor and garbage-like Yong Hao was. I give him some points on that, because I hated Dong Kui and wanted Yong Hao to speak up already.

Quan Hai Xiao as Lin Xian Zhu From the start this guy was a guy who was married but went to one of those dinner dates that Min Jin was part of. I label him the 'player'. A surprising change happened. He went serious and actually worked. And I mean before he worked at Dong Kui's company and joked around with his buddies a lot, then BOOM serious man who's responsible. It was strange but yet I found a tiny bit amusing. I'm sorry to say he can't pull off the 'average smart man in charge'. He works well with Ko Soo (Yong Hao) though, acting fatherly-like. His character isn't very big so I'm satisfied.

Park Han Byul as Cui Xiu Yuan Her purpose was to be the one who was a close friend of Min Jin but then falls in love with Yong Hao. Her love soon was the cause of the jealousy flame and determination to get Yong Hao to be hers. Therefore throughout she backstabs Min Jin to cause problems for Min Jin. In the end she realizes what she's been doing is wrong, and decides Min Jin's love for Yong Hao and Yong Hao's love for Min Jin is too deep and shouldn't be interfered with. So basically what is expected from my point of view is good girl (who you should like) to being the bad girl (who you want to kill and slap) back to the girl whom you pity (but may or may not still hold a grudge towards). I was let down. In the beginning I barely knew her, and barely recognized her. So really out of nowhere a girl comes out and falls in love with Yong Hao. I thought she was pretty though. Next, I started to hate her, really hate her. Not mainly because of what she did, but because whenever I saw her face I was super annoyed. Even when she was being mean her face could not turn into 'mean mode'. When she looked happy and smiled she looked a little scary, like she was up to something. All in all she has no experience. It was weird how she suddenly changed her mind about her love for Yong Hao and decides to do the right thing. Like where did that come from? It didn't fit into the flow. But I guess it isn't all her fault. She didn't look quite right with Ko Soo either. But she fitted being a air stewardess. Her wardrobe wasn't half bad compared to Kim Hee Sun (Min Jin).

Mr Wang Bing ZhuThe actor who played this guy (though I don't know the name) was great. So good job to him! He played "the wise man who somehow knew what he was doing and knew everything" well. He threatens people good too so I'm impressed. Although it was weird finding out whom he loved, and especially hearing him talk about it. Didn't fit too well? But all in all he was excellent.

Mrs ShenThe actress here is pretty good. She looks like a worried mom who would do things for her son's own good.

Che Zhu Mei This girl was terribly weird, but she was part of the comedic part in the series. Though I didn't know why they went and changed her hair when she looked good with straight hair. I thought she looked cute with both guys so my comments on her: job well done.

Yin Qing Xi(Guy 1) He's said to be the good looking guy of the story. So let's just say, he's decent looking. His part was fairly small and not much to work with. So his part was easy, and he did it. So it was good.

Zhou Tai Cheng This guy was the perfect funny guy. Although not the guy that gets the ladies, he and Che Zhu Mei were good together. They had chemistry so that was pleasing.

Closure

The beginning was good, then the ending was bad. There were a lot of what I like to call ?gaps? in the story which made the ending not so great. Like why was the reason to stop trying to damage Yong Hao and Min Jin's love 'because their love is so deep'? Like whoa not what I call 'sweet and heart touching?. Maybe find new ways to express love? So there are 4 girls altogether who are all air stewardess and best friends (Min Jin and Xiu Yuan are two of them), so why did when Min Jin and Xiu Yuan fight over Yong Hao, did the other 2 recognize how evil Xiu Yuan was and why was she not punished? And Dong Kui's attitude and things he did to try to keep Min Jin with him was mental, it made his character seem desperate and a huge irritation.

Shorter Comments

Through it all, it is worth watching but isn't too great. It did receive high ratings in Korea and did get viewed in parts of China so it did well.
