Winter Sonata

I'm not going to start explaining the story in great detail , seeing as how it is quite long. Simply, your average love story where a guy and a girl fall in love and go through obstacles to show their love for each other. Of course, there is one turn the serial takes. The main male character gets into a car accident and ends up having ammesia.

Winter Sonata is a great serial which will hit the spot and have a place in your heart. While I was watching it, I felt dead, and numb all over. I was crying so much and all the time, it was like I had my own heart broken. Not only that, the series was long, so all that sadness was extended even longer than ever. It's pretty much like every other korean serial I've seen. A lot of korean movies have the leads fall in love, one of them finds out he or she has cancer or some sort of sickness, and then more tears. Lots of tears. Seriously, it makes up because the male lead is both handsome and talented! Isn't the beginning great? The beginning and the ending were my favorite scenes. The beginning was so sweet and touching, especially with all the piano and snow scenes. And after all that crying and going through all that pain, the ending was worth it. The beautiful house and the sunset, summer, it was a ending that warmed your heart.

Bae Yong-Joon and Choi Ji-Woo as Jun Xiang and You Zhen. The couple were fun to watch when they were together. Their characters showed a great change to their attitude as the plot progressed. Choi Ji-Woo in the beginning was very happy and acted like a little girl, showing exactly how she should have been. Bae Yong-Joon is great at acting. He showed coldness and being alone in the beginning, but grew to love You Zhen and opened up to her. Soon, he gave his heart to her. His change in character after his car accident and failure to remember anything was very good. It was convincing that the character did have memory loss and was a completely whole different person.

Would you recommend anyone watching this?

OF COURSE! It was a great serial. It did have some flaws, such as being so slow and draggy. I found myself always asking: "What? When is this going to end!?" And you might be wondering why it only received a 4.5 rating. That's the reason. It was long, draggy, and seemed like it was going nowhere. Like the directors just kept taking every chace they had to make it even juicier and milk more tears. But the acting was so great, it made my rating high. Overall, go watch it!
