Armageddon... I know its old but it was so sad n touching when Bruce Willis took Ben Affleck "A.J" place n told him to take care of his daughter n he always see him as his son.. then he said goodbye to his daughter n then before he died he had flashes of memory of her growing up.. sigh.. that was so sad..

for some reason I think Casper the movie was very sad: the part where Casper told the story of how he died because he caught a cold and the dancing scene at the end.

A week or two ago I'd have said Finding Neverland, but after watching the anime movie 'Grave of the Fireflies' I am convinced no other movie can possibly be sadder. 'Grave of the Fireflies' doesn't just make you sad, it shatters you. It breaks your heart. The long and short of it is that during the WWII, there were air raids in Japan and two children, a teenage boy and a little girl, were left homeless and orphaned. They moved in with their aunt, who was unkind to them, and eventually they moved out to survive on their own. The boy tried all he could to save his sister, but she died of malnutrition. After she did, the boy just gave up on life.

This is the kind of movie that haunts you for a long time afterwards. I'm not a crying sort of person, but this one really got to me. It's not just tears, it's outright sobbing! The problem is, for all the sad movies, there's always some hope at the end, ie. someone who didn't die, but for this one, really all hope died. It's one of the best anti-war films ever, but I don't think I can watch it again, it's too stressful.

    Grave of the Fireflies.

It's not only sad on the first viewing. It becomes sadder on the 2nd viewing because u know what will happen to the little girl and her brother and what brings them to such an end. I didn't cry (I cry easily on touching scenes, but can't seem to cry on sad scenes ), but my heart sure breaks. Like gemtsoi said, this movie is not only sad, it's hopeless.

The movie is called 'The Good Son'.

The cousin is played by Elijah Wood (the hobbit Frodo in LOTR) .

    Yeh?
My friend invited me over to watch it with her because she wanted to see me cry (private joke). She cries at anything. This time she didn't cry at all. Suffice to say, we didn't like it

    How about "The Barefoot Kid"?
When he's trying to reach the shoes at the end....
And Maggie Cheung's lonely widow character
