Default Is External Inner Strength under-rated?

Re-reading ROCH and discovered that Da e' Bar does not have any internal energy at all, all that relied on was external energy. That was simply a great discovery for me as Da e' Bar was able to match up with one of Yi Deng's students who had been trained in 1 yang finger.

Does this meant that external energy is similarly important as internal energy?

Do we under-rate or ignore external energy among ppl with similar internal energy e.g. QF vs DY?

"External energy" practitioners would hit the limit quickly whereas the "internal energy" practitioners seemed to have no limit. Example: Hong Qi Gong v.s Wang Chong Yang (ZBT was telling GJ about this on Peach Blossom Island). Also, it seems that the "external" guys would lose their strength more quickly with old age.
