    Default E-Mei: Buddhist or Taoist?

I've always assumed that E-Mei was a Buddhist/martial arts school founded by Guo Xiang from watching the HSDS adaptations

but from Gu Long's novels and some of the earlier posts in this forum, it seems to be that E-Mei is a Taoist school

    so... which one is it?

Emei is buddhist in JY's HSDS and taoist in Gu Long stories such as LXF.

guo xiang became a buddhist nun and most of her students and (martial)desendents followed her footsteps, but in SPW there were some taoist priest from e-mei. e-mei has a lot of budhist and taoist temples so it's possible the school was split in to two for the male and female students. the females staying in a buddhist nunery to learn while the males in a nearby taoist temple, but the martial arts taught were the same, posssiblly the buddhist nunery being the head in e-mei martial arts . male students couldn't stay in a nunery, it would be akward. or the buddhist and taoist temples on e-mei came under the same martial arts school(guo xiangs) even through the pactise different religion. different temples(branches) practise same martial arts, like shaolin and QZ sects also have many branches spread out with the main temple being the head.
