Wouldn’t it be nice if somebody (perhaps Wuxiapedia) publish wuxia novels in hardbound and on good quality paper, with nice pictures and all? I am sure they will be a nice addition to anybody’s book collection.
I know, I know … although I don’t think I am alone here, but I am dreaming …
There are legal and financial issues to be solved.
I for one, am not seeking fame or fortune (if I were, why did I use alias instead of my real name), and I think (not sure though) other translators share my sentiment. We are doing it because we love wuxia; even though we won’t mind extra money if the publisher made a lot of it …
But … all kidding aside: the writers (Jin Yong, Gu Long and the others) need to receive royalty; and then there are printing cost, the distribution cost, etc. etc. So even with a non-profit organization this is a complicated matter.
Anyway, I throw this idea in this forum with the hope that somehow someday somebody will have a better idea on how to publish it.
BTW:
The chapters average more than 25 pages on my MS-Word. Even with 10pt font you will still get between 20-30 pages per chapter. I doubt you would want to read anything smaller than 10pt. So, with a total of 40 chapters, 1000 pages is a correct guesstimate.
