We like to debate the relative prowess of our favorite martial artists. Here's a game wherein we get to vote them on/off the mountain SURVIVOR style.
This round will be a competition among assorted sword/saber/knife specialists from the Jin Yong and Gu Long universes. I'm excluding fighters who primarily fight barehanded (i.e. Gwok Jing, Kiu Fung, Chow Bak Tung, Luk Siu Fung, Chor Lau Heung, etc.), project chi energy (Deun Yu), or use unconventional weapons (i.e. Golden Wheel Monk, Seung Gwoon Gum Hung, etc.) in favor of fighters who specialize in swords, sabers, and knives.
The rules are simple:
1. Either add or subtract a point for a chosen swordsman.
2. You may vote once every five turns; this means that you wait until at least four others have voted before you vote again.
3. The exception is that you may vote out of turn if nobody has voted for two hours after the last post.
4. To facilitate the tracking of the scores, please cut and paste the ENTIRE LIST of swordsmen in your post (highlighting your addition/subtraction).
5. NEW RULE (added 00:31 PST, 1/25/06): For every vote you make, if you add to one swordsman, then your next vote must subtract from another swordsman. You must alternate your additions and subtractions.
6. NEW RULE (added 19:03 PST, 1/26/06): No swordsman may receive more than 50 votes. After the 50th vote, the swordsman can be voted down a vote or sit at 50. Naturally, if he/she is voted down to 49, then the next vote can vote him/her back up to 50 (but never beyond that).
7. NEW RULE (added 15:00 PST, 2/2/06): Any voter who has not voted in ten turns (i.e. nine other voters since his/her previous vote) may vote either + or - for any one character. Voters who vote every five turns, however, must vote according to the existing rule of alternating +/- votes.
8. NEW RULE (added 12:28 PST, 2/5/06): For every + 1 vote, your next vote *must* be a -3 vote for another swordsman. This rule supercedes all previous rules on the voting (note: five-turn rule still applies).
Here's the list. You may assume that all swordsmen are at the peak of their abilities.
