hmm, im on eps. 21 right now and it seems to me that the bloodiness can get sort of overdone
for example, that part where XWQ gets tortured by the Jin fatty, he seemed like he was really injured but by the time he escaped, he looked fine and no pain or injuries were visible
the same goes for that part where that giant guy were beating up Ding Li and XWQ and both look very injured and had blood all over their face... but by next day, they looked like nothing had happened and there were no bruises or marks or anything

i thought the bloodiness was a little over exaggerated

Ok, just finished it last nite but sadly i used lots of "fast forwarding' and as per my opinion, the story is slow n draggy, couldn't see the chemistry too. Sorry i couldnt say it's a good series. I almost stopped watching in the middle, if not of my curiosuity to see the ending i won't finished it

id think they chose Huang Haibo because he sort of has this stupid look in him
also, hes seems to look like one of those people who get aggravated easily

huh??? which episoide was the Chang Kui thing on
so far, id think the fighting scenes were really interesting and i usually enjoy most of the scenes where XWQ was presents...but then there were those really boring scenes like all of those with Feng Jing Yao in them, they were just (i even fell asleep on one of them)
im still currently on eps. 25 and as u said, there were a quite draggy parts.... but there were also those really interesting ones

well, dicky acted in amazing twins as a young man in the twenties while his actual age is already 42 years old
it was surprisng that the director actually picked him to act as some who was in the process of marrying and developing love realtionships while also having a twin brother that was 27

i didnt really remeber anything from the old shanghai bund, so i cant realy compare them

i finished the series yesterday.... thought the ending was really sad

since when i watched the old shanghai bund i was only like 4 or 5, i dunt practically remember anything on it, which is why my opinion of the whole series can be way different then wat u guys think

well, wat happened was that ding li was the one that shot XWQ during chen chen and his wedding ceremony
the thing that made me really sad was that i felt really bad for XWQ.... i mean, he went after FJY just to take revenge on him for killing his wife and family. but instead, his best buddy killed him, he never got to be with chen chen, and most importantly, he didnt even kill FJY
i felt so bad knowing that XWQ loved FCC dearly but cant be with her and everytime he had flashbacks of him and her together had made me really sad
XWQ had died a really sad death, leaving behind everything he loved and had wished for (especially FCC) cause just like him, i wished that she wasnt FJY's daughter which can then in turn, cause them to live a happily life
and even when he got shot, FCC didnt really express the feelings that well cause all she did was yell instead of rushing next to him..... i also cant believe that ding li would actually kill the guy that had helped him into becoming a wealthy person
the scene where he dies was the most memorable and sad one
i cried during that part cause i felt so bad for XWQ

overall, i thought HXM did a reaaaaaaaaaallly good job in acting as XWQ... his expressions and actions made me like him a lot in this series
i guess sun li did a good job too and i can feel her sadness in most of the scenes
huang hai bo was okay (thought he looked a little bit way too old)

the series was also quite draggy in the middle, cause i practically fell asleep during some parts where FJY chitchatted with XS. i guess the scenes i mostly liked were the ones with the actions and the love scenes or any others with XWQ in it
the ending was especially exciting and filled with actions and tension that made me really like the last 10 eps

yeah.. ray lui's maybe too handsome to be Ding Li
but he definately looks way better than huang hai bo
