    personally, i think it's a combination of the first 4 that makes it the most enjoyable for me. If the novels had just one of those four aspects, i wouldn't find it nearly as interesting.

    I wish the poll were multiple choice. Fighting and martial arts are the backbone of wuxia, but I like the historical allusions aspect of it as well.

    well, seeing as my response is not one of the choices, i can only respond in the thread itself: i love his characterizations best. the historical references would be the next choice.

    None of the above. I like the story because of the 3 dimensional characters.
