Default What wuxia roles would you have wanted to see Bruce Lee play?

The late, great Bruce Lee is probably the most celebrated martial arts actor of all time, but even so, he did virtually no wuxia roles during his film career. All of Bruce's movies were set during the 20th Century, and he played original characters rather than characters adapted from wuxia novels.

If Bruce Lee had lived longer, what wuxia roles would you have liked to see him play? What roles do you think he would have been good in?

I think he would have made a great Kiu Fung, at least from an acting and fighting perspective. The only knock against casting Bruce as Kiu Fung is that Bruce was kind of short, and I envision Kiu Fung to be a fairly tall man. Otherwise, however, I think Bruce could play this role to perfection.

No way, Lee would make a lousy XF due to his size.

I think he would make a Great DFBB.

If we shift over to Gu Long's universe, I think Bruce Lee would be good as either Ah Fei or Ging Mo Meng from SENTIMENTAL SWORDSMAN, RUTHLESS SWORD.

People like DGKB, Ah Fei etc seem quite quiet. Men of few words. Not the screeching Bruce Lee type.

Maybe Zhou BoTong might be a good role for Bruce. Both of them are Hyperactive.

That's where the *acting* comes in. As an actor, Bruce has to do more than just perform fancy martial arts moves on camera; he has to portray a character that isn't necessarily like his real personality.

    Why not?

A rebellious and naughty young fella.

One who takes many different schools and merges it into his own art.

Sounds familiar for both YG and Bruce.

TSTL, or LQS. his cat'ty war yells wouldn't be so wierd coming out of them, and it would set to rest all the critisim that he was a wooden actor. playing a chick would prove he's a real actor. dustin hoffman, wesly snipes, robin williams. they all wore dresses , and it was good for their carrer. or DFBB. it's a good role. challenging.
