With regard to with Humplewumps posted, if JY wanted to do a kung-fu fest story, there is such a rich background set up for the early Song/pre-Song.

Yeah I know he won't do it but imagine a story with Murong Longcheng, the Duan Ancestor who created 6MSJ from YYZ, the monk who created Da Li Jin Gang Zhang vs The Hero who created Xiang Long Zhang vs the Saint who developed Bei Ming Zhen Qi. Thats 5 Greats to put the later Song Greats to shame.

You can even throw in the Kui Hua creator as the baddie!

TVB would _love_ such a script to mangle! Imagine the amount of exploding rocks they would write into such a series!

That's true. in addition to the mysterious ppl mentioned above, there are a few more people that must be included:

-The Nameless Elder who occupied less than one line of space in Jin Yong's novels, who developed the sword manual which shot SWORD GOD Zhuo Bufan to stardom.
-The Ultimate Hero of the Wuliang Swordplay Sect (whom I envision as a great fighter, even though his successors sucked)
-The Teacher of the 3 Xiaoyao Pai Elders; possible inventor of ALL Xiaoyao Pai martial arts, who apparently lost to the Yellow-dressed Lady in terms of mysteriousness
-The Monk who mastered 23 Supreme Arts of Shaolin
-Qin Hongmian's father (whom I wildly envision to be a great fighter, even though there's not even a hint of who he might be)

1. Hard to slot him in without a narrator reference that his manual came into SWORD GOD Zhuo Bufan's possession (not good writing) since the skill was never named. Hmm, maybe he is guy #2?

2. Hmm, yes, to name his sect Wuliang Sword, he might be really something.

3.He is there. I mentioned the Bei Ming creator as one of the 5.

4.He is also there! He can be the same guy who invented Da Li Jin Gang Zhang. After mastering 22 skills, he goes, bah! What weak palm strength! Then goes on to create his own before getting to pit it against the guy who invented Xiang Long Zhang.

5.He was not born yet during Murong Longcheng's time!

I am trying to keep it within the background JY wrote in all the novels.

*** I have a problem with the teacher being the creator of all Xiao Yao skills.

1. He needed to create all the skills and still find the time to accumlate all those manuals in his lifespan and half his disciples lifespan. Unless he lived to 250?

2. The Ling Jiu palace looked like it was built long long ago (according to XZ).

3. Its a bit too much for 1 guy to create so much crap!

I wouldreally like both Sweeper and Murong Longcheng to win. The only way for that to happen, is if they both simultaneously reach the score of 30, in the same minute.

Ahh, but Jin Yong does this too. For example the last mention of Jiumozhi, Jin Yong wrote: "Later, he went on to become a great advocate of buddhism.... blah blah blah." So in our version we could say: "Later, this great guy's swordplay came into the hands of a certain individual dubbed the SAINT OF SWORD NIMBUS. For reference, pick up a copy of DGSD in your nearest Chinatown."

The notion that the "qian bei" who developed LORD OF CCVT's sword manual could actually be the greatest hero of No-Limit Swordplay Sect, is pure genius! Great job.

Hmm, perhaps he was the longest living guy in history, and fathered Qin Hongmian at the age of 130?

How would that work PJ?

Ladies and gentlemen, your attention is required. I propose a one-time DOUBLE-UP round for next round:

Does anyone object to Sweeper and Murong BOTH moving on to the next round? If no one objects, then we'll keep voting until they both get to 30 points (at different times; I'm proposing a one-time overriding of the rules), at which point the new round will start with 2 champions and 2 challengers (one challenger from each category), the round lasting 2 days and everyone starting at 20 points and automatically win if they reach 60 points. Basically everything will be doubled.

The reason for this proposal is that Murong and Sweeper are both too great to compete in only one round.
