Default A comprehensive collection of Gu Long's "weak-defeats-strong" incidents

It seems that in the past whenever I have tried to collect a comprehensive anthology of something, it always fell short on the coverage of all necessary information. I hope this time we can really build something of comprehensive coverage, given this exciting topic.

The famous incident is this: Character A is weaker than Character B, but Character B is defeated/killed/embarrassed in combat due to Character A's righteousness and/or luck.

This seems to be a trademark of the author, There seems to be tons of such incidents in Gu Long universe. I can think of several:

-Xie Xiaofeng (weaker) vs Yan 13 (stronger). Guess who survived and who didn't?
-Xiao 11 Lang and the Legendary Sword Duo
-Little Li Flying Dagger Li Xunhuan and Shangguan Jinhong
-Simon the Snow Blower and "Master of White Cloud City" Ye Gucheng
-Chu Liuxiang vs Water Matriarch [kidd]

Please help list all other occurances of such weak-defeats-strong incidences.

the first book of LSF. LSF was weaker than Huo Qing in martial arts. But technically won.

He won the battle of wills, but Luk Siu Fung and Fok Teen Ching never actually engaged in physical combat against one another.

It's a shame; it would have been a good fight.

CLX has the advantage in the fight because of his unique ability.

In fights, besides the relative abilities of the pugilists, the environment and mood also play an important role.

In this case, the environment suits CLX better.

So the weaker vs stronger arguement really is redundant?

Isn't nearly EVERY novel of this type a 'weak defeats strong' in some way? After all, 'strong defeats weak' isn't nearly as interesting. That's why the villain is almost always stronger than the hero.

That only applies to Gu Long.

Does it really? Many fiction/fantasy type novels use this. For well-known examples, LotR (big bad evil guy is beat by a midgety little munchkin), Harry Potter (Voldemort gets beat by a teenager), etc. In novels where there is a good guy and a bad guy, the good guy wins (because that's how stories are), but the bad guy is stronger (to make the story more exciting). Seems a bit unfair to single out GL like that.

Was YGC really that embarrassed of having LXF catch his sword? I remember Ken mentioned even though that happened, YGC was able to take back the sword, instead of having LXF break it like he does to other weapons. Forgive me if these are not facts.

They are facts, and at that time, YGC was the only person able to take something out of LXF's grasp. However, LXF admitted that YGC was a much more accomplished martial artist than he was. Yet, LXF was still able to pull his signature move on the finest swordsman of his time.

Luk Siu Fung had a bit of luck (and a strange physiological anomaly) on his side: the tip of Yip Goo Sing's blade was more or less on his chest, but Luk Siu Fung was somehow able to cause his chest to go slightly concave, giving him maybe just a few millimeters clearance to avoid being wounded by Yip's sword.

And of course, Yip did not intend to kill him on that occassion, or things would have gone differently.

In the Farewell Hook story of the Seven Weapons, the hero defeats the signficantly stronger villain by cutting off his own arm to strike at the enemy. That was one of the most awesome finishing moves in a wuxia battle. Moments like this show why GL's battles are exciting to read even if he can't describe the details as aptly as JY.
