Yeah I agreed, Carman is not only beautiful in there but she's also acted very excellent. Her acting skills are fabulas and looks sooo goregous.

I'm not chinese so I don't what they say in this site. Can someone briefly say what it's in there? I think they let you download this series, but you have to sign in which I have no clue how to sign in since I'm not chinese.

Here someone made a music video ft. Duan Yu (Benny Chan) and the girls in his life

The song is sung by Adam Cheng and Nadia Chan (when did they sing this duet?).

    Comments on the DGSD 1982

I'm just beginning to watch this version.

The portrayal of Zhong Ling reminds me of the mischievous young Huang Rong.

I'm not sure Kent Tong is the right person for the role for Duan Yu, reminds me too much of his ROCH role. But he does have that princely look, yet at the same time, he looks creepy sneaking around.

Ha ha...I suppose first impression last and I think you must have watched Kent Tong's Hou Du's role in ROCH 83, the creepy prince. He acted in another similiar role as a ruthless killer named Kang Junli in 'Shi San Tai Bao' 82 (13 Royal Bodyguards) As for me, I first watched Kent Tong as Duan Yu in DGSD 82 and I think he's ok. I still prefer Benny Chan as Duan Yu in DGSD 96 thou...

That is one really nice song! The only serials I remember Adam and Nadia together would be Cold Blood Warm Heart and the Bund, but the song is so wuxia that it can't possibly be from either. Maybe adamcheng22447 would know, though - she's a walking Adam encyclopedia.

Adam and Nnadia were under CROWN music co. together that explains why they sang about 3 duets together in Adam's "Greed of Man" CD. I love all of their duets and I also love Adam + Nnadia's voice!!! LOL.

Btw, the song was a sub themesong from Adam's movie called "Painted Skin," released in 1993.

I love this version of DGSD. I watched it in the Summer of 2006. It was on the old tapes that my dad's friend recorded. The quality of the tapes were bad but I continued. It turned out to be worth it.

Default I like this version the most

like some of you say, I saw this version before the 80s version so this had a solid impression on me. I felt that all the characters in this version fit their roles so well especially the three main leads. Plus the scripts were very interesting too. This is one of my favorite of tvbs series.

i´m currently watching this great series. i don´t how to describe it but i fell in love with Felix Wong and Lau Kam Ling.
Beautiful and deadly, she is a true descendant of dragon. Fighting for the forces of right and justice, she leaves a series of broken bodies and broken hearts wherever she goes.

yeah agree i think this version is the best so far...surpasses the old versions tvb made...the actors fit their roles perfectly even tho benny was new he still did a good job as duan yi. the graphics were good i don't c y people say its bad...compared to 2003 this one has better actors, graphics, ost. yea sure tvb uses fake prop but thats what gives it a wuxia type feeling.

the music dat comes out when felix appears fits him perfectly, as well as him doing the 18 dragon palms. i also like how the story of this version goes, doesn't go too fast pace or slow.

you thought so? i thought she didn't fit the character at all. she looked way to old to play a 16 year old. they did her hair wrong 2. in the book she was described to be very different and more naive then carman played her, but she was a sweet character who just didn't understand that Doan Du loved her until the end.

this series was one of the series that made Louis Cha withdraw the rights to remake his film from tvb and gave it to the Mainlands instead. it wasn't very true to plot and had way to many rushed scenes and fake props. not to mention the murder of the martial arts. as a whole i believe the 2003 one was the better one, it felt more like an epic, like they did really travel across country, their universe was much larger by comparison.

Really?!! I haven't read the novel yet, but I will. Some in this forum said that it was pretty accurate to the story...

Anyway, I think DGSD 1996 ('97) is really good. It's one of my top three favorite TVB series. I love the three guys--their brotherhood/friendship was very real. It's got good martial arts as well. (Somehow I don't like the 2003 version very much. Maybe because of Jimmy Lin.)

finally i´ve finished this series. i somehow have the feeling that only Felix was the main character. why did he have to die?but i think it´s better for him since he misses A Chau so much. happy endings for the others though.Benny was ok but Carman was a real disappointment. despite she´s one of my fav actresses i have to admit that her acting was worst among the other actors/actresses. just couldn´t find any emotion...Felix Wong, Lau Kam Ling and Rain Lau were the best!!

I don't believe that Louis Cha withdrew the rights from TVB due to this series. TVB continued to make other series based on Louis Cha novels such as The Crimson Sabre, Flying Fox of the Snowy Mountains 99, and Heavenly Sword Dragon Sabre in 2000 after this one. If I remember correctly, then it was Flying Fox series that got all changed by TVB.

I wouldnt be surprise if Louis Cha withdrew the rights from TVB after Heavenly Sword Dragon Sabre in 2000.......look at who they casted as the main character.....only good thing about that series is Gigi role.

i actually said 'one of the ones' that caused the rift. many of the ones starting from this one louis cha did not like them.

i personally liked most of the tvb adaption. mostly because u recognised everyone and its much shorter. but then if u want faithfulness, u can't go TVB.

hated crimson sabra btw. most horrible adaption ever, even more then the version in the 80's.

as for the 2000 version of hsds. i thought it was ok. i enjoyed it more then the alex su version or any of the others, i think the best one would have to be the taiwan one, it was very gud. and also because i like the main girl in there. forgot her name though.

did you know Diana from Best selling secrets is in the 2000 version?! she was Dai Nhi Thi. the young golden flower grandma. she looked familier but i didn't recognise her to someone mentioned it. another reason to like hsds 2000 now.
