lol, , i didn't noticed this passage until several mins ago. what a surprise that a log-like man as Jing ge-ge could say those sweet words to me. i really feel touched.

    Thanks foxs.

I can't wait for the next translation. How did GJ free himself ?
Finally some action. I would like to see GJ fight and HR showing off her brains by ousting YK.

    Good translation.

His left palm lightly stroke her beautiful hair, his right palm suddenly shot out; ‘Bang! Bang! Bang!’ three beggars flew out above the crowd’s heads.
HR should've fainted from the sheer awesomeness GJ displayed.

@ Fox_ the expert Translator: Thanks for the translation.

Hehe, once Huang Rong escaped from the binding rope, she would let Yang Kang know how powerful her intelligence was.

I think the main reasons why readers enjoy the novel is precisely because they've watched the adaptations, and so they want to find out more about the story's origins.

I haven't seen any of the adaptations yet. If there are some that you guys recommend -- that stay more or less true to the novel -- I'd love to know which ones they are! Thanks again for the translation, FXS!

At times, it's like reading a completely different story. I know where the story will end up, but because of the "liberal" TVB adaptations, I have no idea how GJ and HR are going to get there, and it's been an enjoyable journey.

I'd recommend the most recent (c. 2003) adaptation, produced by CCTV (a Chinese TV network) and overseen by Zhang Jizhong. It stars the Chinese actors Li Yapeng (as Guo Jing) and Zhou Xun (as Huang Rong). Besides being quite true to the novel, it has a brooding, epic grandiosity and tries to aim for subtlety, and should please viewers who want to watch a 'literary' adaptation. Be warned that it's not perfect, though.

A version is available for download with fairly decent English subtitles. Try doing a search for "Legend of Arching Hero".

There's also a 1982 adaptation from TVB (a Hong Kong TV network) starring Hong Kong actors Huang Rihua (aka Felix Wong) as Guo Jing and Weng Meiling (aka Barbara Yung) as Huang Rong. It's much more popular than the 2003 adaptation, but it's not true to the novel at all, and looks very dated due to the poor production values back then. Personally, I much prefer the 2003 adaptation.

to all the translators. You all rock! I love the part where GJ "takes out" HR's anger for her....its so sweet. And also how much he cares for her.
    Rong'er, are you okay?
They're my favorite couple....it used to be Xiao Yan Zi and Yong Qi from Huan Zhu Ge Ge, but after I discovered LOCH, it switched to GJ and HR.

KChill, like owbjhx, I recommend the 03 version. LYP and ZX are really good!
hu ge, yang mi, yuan hong, liu shishi.
    wang luodan, li guangjie.

The one thing good about the 82 LOCH is the music. I loved the music.
