Default Is Duran Duran still Popular?

I wasn't born yet when they first started singing and well they were just not as popular as Madonna to transcend age groups, at least to my knowledge. Well, I just wanted to know if Duran Duran is still popular and if yes, are there people old enough here that know them and their songs?

In England to an extent they still are. In the US unless your into 80's music, most of the younger generations don't even know who they are.

So, in short I don't think they are still popular. But the younger generations are missing out on Come Undone and Hungry Like a Wolf.

I first heard of Duran Duran in the 90s when they released the Wedding Album? I liked Ordinary World and Come Undone.

No, Duran Duran is not popular anymore. I don't think the young generation know about the band. Only those who grew up in the '80s or those into that era's music would know them. They were a very important band that should be recognized though; when I think of New Wave, I think of Duran Duran.
My obsessions: Joy Division, New Order, Bones, The Office.

They're not Top 40 or MTV darlings anymore, and haven't been since the early 1990s, but they can still pull in the fans. Many 1980s New Wave bands (such as Blondie and the Romantics) are actually still active.

Yeah, but who cares about the new kids? They have no taste in music anyway.

I like their "What Happens Tomorrow" song, theres some truth in the music.

Thanks for the song title recommends.

Did they sing "I just Died in your Arms Tonight" or did Air Supply sing it?

It's by a band named Cutting Crew.

Oh? For some reason when I searched it on Limewire, DD and Air Supply came up.

I remember hearing about this and how one of their songs is apparently the fight music of Mirko Crocop.
