Anyway, just to sidetrack a little. I read an interesting bio on Shirley KF Chan (the costume designer for Tangren) - she actually has a magnificent track record as the designer of the costumes for the original classic Chinese Ghost Story movie in 1987 starring Leslie Cheung and Wong Jo-Yin! (Wow!) Notice her style is pretty Issey Miyake-inspired? Clothing The World/Tian Ya Zhi Nu was tailor-made by Karen to showcase Shirley's design talents with Huang Dao Po/Qiao'Er like some little semi-bio of her (why do I get the feeling LSS & YH didn't want to be the Qiao Er & hubby characters so Tangren came up with some lame irrelevant General-Princess storyline just to box them into that series )

But TBH, I feel battle scenes is most definitely LGL's forte (and NOT CtW-kind of women story stuff). Remember the Yang Women battle scene vid I posted some pages back here? Another of my favourite battle scenes was the famous 300 moment in LOCH08 (and I thought LSS' acting in this particular scene was really decent - actually her acting was good only in those parts where she can act fierce ).

Xiaolong, I loved that battle scene...it made me cry every time I watched it. Also, loved to watch LSS's fighting scenes. Thanks for posting.

I know right? Her acting was actually decent in scenes where she shouts at the men and fights against battalions of soldiers. It was the crying softie scenes where she was real wooden (Shui Ling did such scenes better bcos she's, well, a Qiong Yao favourite). When Tangren does a solid good battle scene, it's like GOLD! I find that's really where LGL talent lies. Too bad (as agreed with several earlier comments) LOCH08's script was terribly flawed.

I'd say the best scripted Tangren series were Young Warriors and Strange Hero. Except for Strange Hero, the annoying b*tch Ruyi (oops) was the irritating eyesore of the story (IMO only, sorry TLY fans!)

Anyway, 2 more days until the trailer is out

I have super high hopes for BBJX as Tong Hua's involved in the scripting. But there's always a danger in having super high hopes because there might be disappointment? So let's psycho ourselves and say "BBJX is just going to be mediocre like CP1!" But I just can't help watching the clock and counting down on the next 48 hours

LOCH08's script was terribly flawed.

I thought the series was entertaining and I liked it, but probably because I didn't know how the story should be according to the novel. However, without knowing how Yang Kang and Mu Nianci should be...I did find Mu Nianci to be annoyingly weak when it comes to Yang Kang...

BTW, I don't know why people on baidu are very fond of pairing Liu Shi Shi and Wallace Chung together. I've seen lots of their MVs lately.

Haha, I did not like Ruyi either I skipped all the scenes that involove her, even though I adore TLY (especially in Goong). LOL.
I kept checking on baidu to see whether they've uploaded the OST (sang by Hu Ge - Alan) and the trailer
Anyway, finally, tomorrow is the day I probably will spend the whole day next to the computer.
And yes, we need to try to keep low expectation, but it's hard since I've been waited for this drama for almost more than half a year. It's killing me.
