Hmmmm...I'm still crossing my fingers they will have great chemistry as a couple onscreen because 4th-Ruoxi's relationship has to positively SIZZLE for the series to work. Gals, get used to her "making out" as she's going to do a lot of making out with both 4th & 8th.

LXX - looks like all the LSS lovey dovey action you were wanting to see with Wallace is gonna happen (a LOT) with Nicky instead!!! Although I didn't see as many shots of her love scenes with 8th.

Been really busy with a major mid-term project so will post more of my comments on everything about Bu Bu once I've time on my hands.

I don't know....YH doesn't look that young in his bald look anymore...hehehe. I think he looks older than his 9th and 10th brother in Bu Bu.

I think everybody looks older bald!!! IMO 9th looks older than even Kevin, not to mention YH. I think 9th looks same age as Nicky. 10th? - too fugly for me to notice. Who cares if he looks "youthful"? - not good-looking, not popular.

That said, I am liking Han Dong's acting very much in the trailer .

Looks to me that she's grown pretty close to Nicky. She tends to grow closer to the more outgoing & goofy guys. E.g. Kevin's reserved, so she doesn't seem close to him. Wallace is also reserved. But Nicky looks like he goofs around a lot.

BBJX was actually introduced to Tangren by YH and was meant to be tailer-made for him. But frankly, after reading the novel, I cannot cannot imagine him as 4th or 8th. CANNOT! (he looks like everyone's baby brother) I'm happy with him being 13th, although I think he could have made a better 14th than Lin Gengxin .

I would totally protest if he took on 4th role as initially planned! Came across this article saying people thought he would be 4th, but book critics felt that he doesn't have the carriage/posture to take on 4th and are happy he's 13th:

Anyway, I am looking forward to 13th after the loving....and I mean very very loving descriptions of 13th written by the great Tong Hua herself (Gosh, when I saw Bu Bu's thread, I went to check out her weibo t.sina.com.cn/xiaosanju). 13th's like the only prince she devoted multiple descriptions to. Checked back her previous entries - even YH's stupid dog got more descriptions than Nicky! I think Nicky only got 1 description - when she was applauding the fact that fans were won over by Nicky's 4th in the trailer. The other princes got zero descriptions (and not even added as friends ). C'mon Tong Hua, I thought Han Dong was good too?

I don't think YH would make a good 4th either. I really like him as 13th though so I think it was the right decision. Plus everyone loves 13th!

Great insight Plushie, I admit I didn't get what you said in the spoiler until I read the authoress' own analysis in this respect- I'm amazed at how strong an opinion she has on the issue!

The most intriguing thing she revealed there though is that 8th is her personal favorite- that apparently she herself wept over many of 8th's scenes as she wrote them, and e.g., for 4th only once did she do so. She is certainly impartial in her writing then, since I found 13th, 14th and 4th to actually be amazingly compelling characters as well, although I am a lot more sympathetic to 8th now that I'm 80% through with the novel.

Well this part about 8th was written before the TV series was made. But looks like for the TV series, she's been talking mostly about 4th & 13th.

And she only added YH & Nicky as weibo friends, not the other princes (she seems to be good friends with YH way beforehand, hence it's natural she talks more about him anyway)

Aw, my poor Han Dong...but I'm happy he got a line when even TVB A-lister Kevin had none .

Yeah, I get the impression the three of them hung out most together. For the other actors/actresses, they hung out pretty much equally with other cast members, but with YH-Nicky-LSS, they seem to have formed a firm trio. Notice YH & LSS are the ones who celebrated Nicky's end of filming with flour fight. I didn't see the others.

The men all have to shave off their heads for Qing Dynasty dramas!
That's why Qing dramas always pose a problem for actors who also have modeling and singing commitments.
