Sigh. Slavery still exists in HP world even after all the improvement in the Ministry of Magic.

Good to know that Hermione at least improved the life of house-elves after she worked in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.

I guess in Rowling's mind, the house-elves has to continue being bound because they are too powerful to be set free. Or does Rowling approve of slavery? She seems to love the old world.

This is really one thing that bugs me. The magical world supposed to have become a really nice place after Voldemort's death, with prejudice and discrimination eradicated. Auror Department become perfect under Ron's and Harry's leadership. But HOUSE-ELVES ARE STILL SLAVES.

I still want to know the history of house-elves. Why no one asked this question?

As for slavery, it's not something that can be stomped out quickly, I suppose. You have to remember that for the house-elves, it has to go TWO-WAYS. Alas but Dobby was the exceptional one; the rest of the house-elves enjoys their enslavement.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard is extensively illustrated and handwritten by the bard herself--all 157 pages of it. It's bound in brown Moroccan leather and embellished with five hand-chased hallmarked sterling silver ornaments and mounted moonstones.
