Generally, humans have always been nosy with a tendency to gossip. Well, I take it back, don't know how our ancestors were, but I'm guessing the same.

I don't know which girl had it worst, but at least Bobo only had 1 pic. The content is shocking, but at least less in quantity is better than more, IMO. I haven't seen all of them and the ones I've seen are kinda fuzzy.

Well, if they weren't so image conscious (in other words, fake) those pictures really aren't a big deal. So they have sex. Whatever.

I actually find Gillian's most demaging becasue she is seen as a more decent girl and we get full pictures of her in the act. Bobo's was plain disgusting, I can't even bear to look at it while Cecelia' was bad, I can accept them as long as I don't see her private parts below.

Gosh, this is such a male chauvinist attitude. I don't care if he's a player, but he's a jerk for keeping all those incriminating photos, especially, when he's currently in a relationship as well. I would feel so disrespected if my boyfriend keeps naked pictures of his exes. What's he doing with them, sharing his conquests with his friends or jerking off to their pictures? He's ranting how the media is ruining his life by misquoting him, but it is him that's ruining all these women's lives by keeping those incriminating pictures, without little regard of the consequences. For goodness sake, how dumb can you be to expose your computer to other people with those sensitive pictures on the hard drive?

In all seriousness I was reading Singtao and found its story on the earlier arrests a bit clearer than the Mingpao one translated on AF.

Couple of things that I found interesting and wanted to share.

There is no official police confirmation that the pictures were stolen from Edison's computer. Sources close to the police revealed that 3 of the suspects managed the computer shop that Edison allegedly sent his computer to have fix. These same sources state that at least one person from the ring of conspirators escaped with copies of all the pictures and warns of the possibility that these pictures might still be promulgated. The only thing that the police made official is that a vast majority, but not all of the pictures involve HK female celebrities.

What surprised and vexed me most was that this article mentioned how the HK Police Commissioner warned HK citizens that even possession of the pictures could make them criminally liable. A bold face lie for those who know the law and yet another example how the police uses bully tactics to intimidate citizens in order to protect the face of the rich and famous. Not surprisingly, this threat was met with the wrath of many HK Citizens.

In regards to the video of Edison and Gillian, it's been rumor to have been circulating for quite a while now. Some websites are even attempting to sell it to the high bidder. Lots of people believe in its existence because some of Gillian's images appear to sequential slideshow similar to screenshots from a video clip.

In terms of damage, I don't look at it from the standpoint of the explicitness of the pictures. Bobo was shown giving oral sex, Gillian receiving oral sex, and Cecilia is just plain.... well can't come up with adjective at this time. Regardless, is there any doubt that they all did the same things with Edison at one time or another? Heck for all we know they could have had threesomes, committed sodomy, and various other kinky stuff.

I believe that Gillian is most harmed career wise as her image is completely obliterated. If she has a strong enough EQ, she can transform her image to someone like Hsu Chi, Vivian Hsu, but I highly doubt it. In terms of her personal relationships, I honestly think that she can find a boyfriend who can accept her past given this day and age. There are many former Category III actresses who have married and have happy families. Worse comes to worse she can always leave HK and go somewhere where not as many people know her.

Bobo and Cecilia is the exact opposite. I do not think Cecelia's career will be to affected that much since she has discarded that virginal image very early in her career. Bobo is out of the industry so that's not a concern. Their private lives are affected drastically in terms of their current companions. Since both of their respected partners come from prestigious family where face is so important, it will be very difficult for their husband/fiance to endure the pressure from the older generation and the social class as a whole.

Lastly, I want to say that unless one has an exhibitionist personality, there will always be an emotional wound when one's most intimate and private moments are exposed for the world to see. I feel sympathy for all three of them as people. Unfortunately for celebrities in the spotlight, this is the price they pay for the fame and fortune that they reaped. The media will want to intrude on your privacy and autonomy; and in a sense we are all perverts for supporting it while craving more.

I think as long as someone doesn't report this thread to the notice on mods ...

Damn now I think someone will lol report this thread for getting out of hand... But I think it's quite valid as the scandal is heavily related towards Gillian.
