Those are categorised as Pop-ups? Have you tried Pop-up killers?
Check out in your C Drive/D Drive (wherever you store your program files, etc) for any maliciously named folder. If you suspect a folder could be the virus/spyware ad origin, check the date of the folder for if you had installed such a program on the date that folder was created.
Hope this helps.

What can I say? I'm still standing! No weapon against me shall prosper! I am more than a conqueror!!!
I don't care to sit by the window on an airplane. If I can't control it, why look?
Try running a scan: I use adware and spybot since they are free to dl. Then run your anti-virus program, whichever you have should usually do the trick.

SkyKing's suggestion's right.
Restart your computer, boot into Safe Mode. Then run all your anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-malware software when you are in Safe Mode.

if thats the case would it get rid of a low level trojan? i can't seem to get rid of it.
i find it, delete it, then it comes back, i know it has back up sumwhere but can't find where it is. its starting to affect my windows explorer.
Currently in love with Bae Suzy...for superficial reasons.
Trojans are nasty. It does respawn after Norton Anti-V detects it. This is what I did for a low level trojan and some adware. I installed SpyDoctor and Spy Bot S&D. Ran both and got rid of the adwares/spywares. Then installed AVG and ran it. AVG detected the trojans and fix some stuff. Reboot computer and it came back (respawned under a different name). Ran all the programs again to fix (caught some in win32 and reg). Reboot and it came up again. Ran AVG again. This time I selected to delete the suspicious files too even though AVG didn't recommend it. It's has been a month and the trojan seems to be gone.
