Which one would HYS chose

to be his son in law if he could decide himself? He can choose between DY, XZ, XF, ZWJ amd LHC. I didn't put YG since we all know that YG would win easily.

I think DY would have what it takes since he was well versed in poetry and ying/yang formations.

Here's what HYS would think:

DY: he's a wimp and a stalker.
XZ: Former monk and kind of soft...
ZWJ: Indecisive and has other women around...
LHC: Gets drunk ...but probably gets along with the mischievous HR..
XF: Probably HYS most logical one out of them...man among boys (although I'm not sure best fit for HR, but rather HYS would pick him).

XZ is a monk...I doubt HYS would be too thrilled either.

LHC isn't bad, but his frivolous nature might not go too well with HR's playful side...they're a bit too alike.

XF is probably a great choice (as he would be for everything else), but somehow I just can't imagine XF and HR together...

HYS couldn't care less if his son in law fits with HR or not. heck, he was almost going to choose OYK.

that said, XF is very manly, but much too proper and too much of a brute. DY is also too uptight and proper for HYS's tastes.

LHC care less about the societal rules, which is probably HYS's first pick among the choices.

the true favorite for HYS is probably Yang Guo though :P

Yeah I find it hard to imagine too, but they do have fitting characteristics. I mean HR was attracted to GJ openness and caring attitude. XF is that and he chivalrous, a great fighter, and isn't low in intelligence. Plus XF doesn't mess around with around women at all and is very clear about that (*COUGH *unlike YG, GJ, and ZWJ *COUGH*). I can believe XF tolerating HR mischievousness at times, I mean Ah Zhu did sometimes dress up and also tried stealing from Shaolin. On top of that XF took care of and tolerated..Ah Zi..'Nuff said. But yeah it would be hard to 'imagine' it...

I think it still comes down to who Huang Rong likes. No matter how much HYS hated Guo Jing or other suitors, as long as HR likes him, HYS will have to give in.

I think he would think XF is a bit too much of a square/good guy and too into formalities, and end up scolding him much like XYS did after he rescued him from Juxian Zhuan.

YG realized pretty early on that the only person that he loves is XLN, and he pretty much stopped all flirting since. GJ had the problem of being too loyal to his word....

Doesn't matter, the power of the character HYS forces ZBT to be a choice. His sheer unconventional power makes it that we are unconventional and pick someone not on the list.
