I just read this news today (I know I'm very behind in this news) that WKW will be making a biopic of Ip Man.
I might offend the WKW fans, but, I can't imagine a director like WKW making a film about a kungfu master. To me, WKW movies mostly comtemplative, slow-mo, quiet movies. Lots of internal monologues, starring into spaces, focusing all mundane activities to show emotions. It's so not the right style for a biopic about a kungfu master. I don't mean that a kungfu master movie should be all fight and action pack. But, at least, it has to be, how to say, more 'realistic'. At least, a balance of plot and character development. WKW's style is very character driven while the plot minimum. Imagine Ip Man staring into space and talking to his teacup.
