Apparently. Though there are speculations that her death may be a fake one. Seems like her character is based on a novel of similar plot/characters and in the novel, her character dies but Yu Zheng wrote on his blog that her character's ending will not be similar to that of the novel.

On a side note, I think Hawick looks good.

I think YZ explain the whole scenes, not that pic. And he said pictures from YK's blog are not that good because of angles and lights...

YZ said she make herself unattractive but rain washed away pockmarks on her face.

Thank you for the pics myedi! Hmm, I'm not very fond of Ruby's hairstyle and somehow, I don't think she looks sharp and strong enough as the famous Empress Dou in that pic. Rather, she looks more soft, delicate and somewhat young and innocent.

The lady in the second pic looks really pretty though (albeit the blurry pic and quick pose). I love the light green robe and her hairstyle!

On a side note, I read on Tieba (Baidu) that YZ mentions that:

YM's character really dies in the end. She sacrifices herself for her mistress, Dou Yifang (Ruby). From the sound of it, it seems like YM plays an awfully tragic character in this series- her character gives up her whole life for her mistress and couldn't even have her lover by her side when she dies.

And, I read the comment ruby's that look(red costume pic) is when Dou Yifang send her to Principality of Zhao and soon became a favorite of Liu heng. At that time of course she still young and not grow as matured woman.

can anyone tell me what is Huang Hai Bing's role? i can't believe that Sammul got a bigger role than HHB. I think HHB is a better actor and fits with RUBy better. Too bad Yuan kuan does not have a bigger role. They look cute together.

George Hu is in here too and some credible actors that are not famous but have done tons of series.
It must cost big bucks for this series. It better be good.
