Why does he bother putting estimated number of years to practice the kungfu when it's all about whether or not you have the inner strength? It just makes people fire deviate and try too hard when they can't handle it.

I guess this is a limitation of having super secret kungfus that only one person is allowed to learn: you dont know jackshit about it. I imagine if everyone practiced QKDNY it'b be pretty obvious sooner rather than later that those with X inner strength can progress, while those with Y cannot.

I'm surprised someone who doesn't care about martial arts superiority such as Guo Jing or Wuji or even Linghu Chong doesn't just photocopy manuscripts of their respective arts and distribute it to the general public to raise the health/skill of the overall population. It'd be pretty beneficial especially in Guo Jing/Wuji/Xiao Feng scenarios where war is always looming.

These guys were pretty responsible wulin men who were conscious of the consequences of allowing the secrets of these powerful martial arts to fall into the wrong hands. Nothing bad is likely to happen if Farmer Chan gets the 9 Yum Jen Ging, Keen Kwun Dai Loi Yee, or Qwai Fa Bo Deen, but if these manuals become available to West Poison Au Yeung Fung, Sing Kwun, or Ngok But Kwun, there will be HUGE problems.

When the heroes gain possession of these manuals, they are aware that not only are they the beneficiary of these martial arts, but they also become their de facto custodians.

It's like Uncle Ben Parker said: "With great power comes great responsibility."

Like you made a previous post before, Ouyang Feng wouldn't go around raping babies and massacring civilians moreso than he is already is since it's just as easy whether has has 9 Yin, 9 Yang, or with his current skillset. It just matters for the rest of wulin. But if randon scrubs in Quan Zhen sect that was supposed to have numbered in the ten thousands gets to practice 9 Yang for 5 years, I think they'd do more good than harm. Ouyang Feng might have a 20-50% increase, enough to edge out the Greats, but a random disciple would have like a 3000% increase, multipled by ten thousand people.

Same with Sung soldiers. Sure there'd be some bad eggs, but I imagine there would be 10x as many good eggs that would uphold and hunt down the bad ones, as I'm suggesting maybe passing it to 100-1000 that have tested for character rather than everyone who wants to know them.

Or at the very least, Guo Fu, the Mo brothers, Wudang disciples, pretty much righteous people that have crap kungfu relatively. They numbered in the thousands.

actually there is one more reason why does skills are kept secret. not everyone has the ability to master them and may end up in danger from practice. you need sufficient inner power to learn the skills, and the inner power practice of the high skills like 9yin are not easily practiced. if your base is not sufficient or you make a mistake, fire deviation can occur easily. even shi huolong who was an expert became crippled after practicing HL18Z. if you give out the manual to hundreds of people, then it's hundreds of fire deviating patient.

why was shi huo long crippled after practicing XL18Z? If GJ, who was kinda a noob at that time, could learn it, why can't shi huo long? Is it because GJ has a natural talent for martial arts like people said he had?

It's more than that. Gwok Jing had Cheun Jen Sect inner power training. Cheun Jen Sect's inner power training power methods were among the most efficient (as well as orthodox and safe) ever devised, and were capable of powering the Hong Lung 18 Palms.

Goodness only knows what sort of inner power methods Shih For Lung used, but they evidently were not as good as the Cheun Jen Sect's.

plus GJ had HQG to guide him. SHL may not have had as good as a teacher. when GJ was knocking down a hundred trees for oyang feng, after the 20th tree, GJ felt his inner power felt insufficent and the energy he gather wouldn'travel and impacted back on him. he remembered HQG warned him that if your inner power is exhuasted when you unlease HL18Z, you can injure yourself seriously. HL18Z is seriously inner power draining. you need high inner power to master and be of a level to direct your inner power freely. QKDNY is also the same. the guy who created the skill did not have enough inner power to master the last level. he came up with the theory on to it should be mastered but couldn't do it himself.
