Pre-16 year Yang Guo couldn't do with HIS what other Greats could do: be a Great without a special weapon in hand.

They may be losing initially in a fight, but once a Great (who isn't out of his mind) realizes this, they would handily exploit this giant weakness.

Pre-Heavy Iron Sword Yeung Gor wasn't that tough, however, and would not be a match for a Guardian Lord.
He might be a match for the Dragon King, whose forte wasn't internal strength but strange techniques. While he was fast, he might not be quite fast enough to match the Bat King. His closest match in terms of type might be the Right Envoy though, who had a massive repertoire of sword techniques, similar to Yang Guo. The Lion King and Eagle King should be able to blow him away with internal, either breaking his defences or outlasting him.

an analysis more along the lines of my thinking. pre-HIS YG certainly was not weak in lightness kungfu with what he learned in Ancient Tomb and Nine Yin manual but you're right Bat King was in a league of his own in that regard.

in terms of internal energy, do u see a 30 year old HYS losing to Lion King or Eagle King?

i dont know what HYS at 30 was like =\

bat king was probably one of the fastest people in JY's books. he's definitely comparable to DFBB if not much faster. The rate at which he travels is just wow..

    2. Yau Chui Gei

    3. Wong Chui 1

    4. Siu Seung Tze

    5. Lui Mor Singh

    6. Wan Hak Sai

    7. Gung Sheun Tze

    8. Wong Yung

Those are the absolute-sure-thing-ahead-of-him characters. Still out there contending are folks such as Yeh Lut Chai, the four disciples of 1 Deng, Ying Goo, Little Dragon Girl, Fok Do, Dat Yee Ba, and possibly the remaining second generation Cheun Jen Disciples.

Next you're going to be telling us that when Yeung Gor was born out of Muk Lim Chi's womb, he was ready to take on all the LOCH Greats.
Well I think Pre Heavy Sword Yang Guo (post Jinlun advice) was a lot stronger than Huodu/Daerba even Jinlun and the Mongol Warriors was "impressive" with his skill once at Kubhilai Camp and the other when he fight against Gongsun Zhi at Passionless Valley..
With Hero Sword in his arm I think he can fight evenly with Purple Dragon or Yu Lianzhou😅😅
