I was just looking back at some past reviews of LOCH08 in entertainment mags and it's almost unanimous among reviewers that YK/MNC made a better couple than GJ/HR - something nobody would think can ever happen. That's the thing - those two sizzled so hot as a couple in LOCH08 that everyone assumes that they are always playing a couple or keep being together at press events. In reality, their characters hardly met in Young Warriors and CP3, they were enemies in Fantasy Zhu Xian, and she's been at more press/promo events with HG than with YH.

Reminds me of Liu Song Ren and Mi Xue in 1980s ATV serials. But they played a couple more than 10X tho.

Wow, their first on-screen couple from that series really made that much of an impact that everybody now is expecting more for them to cooperate as a couple

Yeah, Liu shishi does seem to be in events more with Hu Ge than Yuan Hong, but I've heard she is closer to Yuan Hong in real life

Are you referring to The Young Warriors? If you are, that's not YH's first series, and I wouldn't say his love interest is ugly-just not as pretty as the others

I beg to differ from the rest about YH/LSS's chemistry. I still prefer GJ/HR's love story and chemistry. I felt YH's acting was too good for LSS who appeared stiff and untouching. She's also not pretty enough to act as MNC. Most of the chemistry stem from YH's dual good and evil personality in the show.

Really, I thought LSS was quite pretty enough for MNC. Admittedly she's not as beautiful as Shui Ling (who was perfect as MNC) and yeah her acting was still a bit wooden then, but looks-wise I thought she was a great fit.

Though to be honest I didn't really enjoy YK/MNC. Both characters were super annoying so I just couldn't get invested in the couple (flaw with the script not the actors--I felt YH/LSS made the best of what they were given). And it wasn't just them--I couldn't get that invested in the HR/GJ relationship either (which was surprising since I felt HG/Ariel had great chemistry in TWFX).

But YH/LSS are really cute together in BTS/talk show clips I've seen. Actually they're probably the main reason why I'm thinking of watching this series (well, mostly for YH, hehe). Only thing is this looks like it'll have a tragic ending again and I really want something with a happy ending for once...maybe I'll wait to hear spoilers first.

LSS is still the prettiest actress to act as YH's love interest. I was just watching Dandelion and he was acting as this boyish lovelorn teenager chasing after Sun Li who looks more like his mom or at best older sis. I also don't get how Wei Xiao Jun's Guan Hong can ensnare YH's Yelu Xie.

I have to admit that LSS is a little wooden, I still prefer HR/GJ, but I'm saying that YH & LSS character have certain chemistry that I don't see between Wei Xiao Jun's Guan Hong & YH's Yelu Xie. I don't see any other series of YH. If you know any please recommend for me.

I think the makeup artist for Yang Warriors just wasn't that good. None of the girls stood out (except for the 7th wife who was quite pretty). Or maybe they just didn't bother trying to make the girls that beautiful, since the series was more focused on the guys? Case in point LSS who was very plain in Yang Warriors but really pretty in her other series. (Yeah, maybe it's partially due to her "growing into" her looks later, but she would've looked much nicer in Yang Warriors with better makeup.) They didn't accentuate her features that well. I haven't seen any other series with the Guan Hong actress but who knows, maybe she'd look better with an improved makeup job too.

Hehe, no need to be sorry, just personal preference--I've always considered Shui Ling probably the most beautiful asian actress. Mostly because of her gorgeous eyes (YM's are similar too). I think LSS has a much more dainty/delicate facial shape and features compared to Shui Ling/YM, but her eyes are not as expressive/captivating, which I consider more "important"...but others probably place more importance on other features, so once again, up to personal preference!

let just put this way if Shui Ling act as HR I like much better. I like Shui Ling in that kind of character for a change. To me YM is nowhere close to Shui Ling. It just matter of chemistry between certain couple that all. I forgot to add didn't I read somewhere said that LSS character suppose to die.

I always thought YM resembled Shui Ling as well! Not only her eyes but her nose is very similar to Shui Ling's.

LSS has pretty sweet and dainty features but i personally find her eyes very lifeless-looking, which makes her seem rather tired and in a daze most of the time. Perhaps that's the reason why I've always found her somewhat stiff and wooden in her acting- because her eyes lack intensity and emotions.

I personally find Janine Chang a very wooden actress as well though she's very pretty (especially in this series) and seems to be less wooden than usual in the trailer clips.
