What can I say? I'm still standing! No weapon against me shall prosper! I am more than a conqueror!!!
I don't care to sit by the window on an airplane. If I can't control it, why look?
isn't it on the roof of the "new" marina sands hotel/casino across the water from sentosa?
Brilliant! If you need a local as your "tour guide", buzz me up!

I can't remember if I ever felt this way with you.... but right now, I do. I don't know if you still feel for me the way you did before (but for sure, you're as caring as before). Searching high and low, "your one" could be "the one" who have gone through thick and thin with you.

Ken MIA?? Or busy "killing" the spammers?
Just did a Judo class. I am so unfit. Judo is rough as, Judo looks like ballroom dancing, Judo hurts, Judo rocks.
^ hey were there many girls in your judo class?
I like me.
There were about 3 girls in a class of roughly 10 people. 1 of the girls is an olympic competitor. I heard the female instructor won Silver in the Sydney Olympics.
Why? Do you missssssssssssss Ken?
He's probably typing (coming up) with the next installment of his fanfic. It's what he did on Christmas eve/day. Whenever he's gone for several hours he's either away from the computer or scheming his next plot in his fanfic. He thinks no one knows this, but I do.
I just love how you Captivate My Mind

Thank goodness I know how to manage my own $$$. I have never had a overdraft fee from the bank.
We always think that we have all the time in the world, so we put off doing things for a day or two, but like always something comes up and it prevents you from doing things as planned. That's why you have to do things when you can, otherwise it'll never get done precisely when you want it done. Just a thought.
I want to buy pretty curtains that keeps the cold out during cold seasons and heat out during hot seasons.

I'm interested in taking some form of martial arts for self defense or even just for health and discipline reasons. However, I am afraid of pain.
I like me.
Good Martial Arts clubs will accomodate female needs pretty well unless they're some kind of pro fight gym. Some places have a women's only class. But even the ones that don't are conscious of their female clients and want to keep them.
You won't get hurt in a class assides from the occasional bruise or accident. They'll look after you, the only thing they expect from you is to sweat and work your pretty little behind off and not complain about it.
If you want to start training you'll have to decide on what kind of martial art you want to do. Generally there's striking, which is about punching and kicking, elbows and knees. Or there's grappling, which is about wrestling, using leverage and disrupting balance.
Kickboxing is highly popular with girls, but the fitness kickboxing classes they do in gyms aren't useful because they just want to make you sweat, they don't care about proper technique. Generally in Muay Thai classes there's atleast 1 girl and you can partner with them. You'll just be kicking pads, hitting bags. You don't have to worry about sparring until later and they'll be mindful of you.
Training will look something like this.

You could also try boxing, which is like Muay Thai, but without the kicks. But I think most girls like to kick.
Karate depending on the style can be next to no contact, or very high contact. You'll have to be wary of fake schools and things like that.
Tae kwon do is extremely popular with girls. They focus predominantly on kicking. I personally think TKD is not as useful for a real fight.
There's many different Chinese Martial Arts you could do, I don't think I can cover them all. Ofcourse, Wing Chun is really popular right now. But I haven't come across a good Wing Chun school yet so I don't know how well they fight. Not really cardio intensive though.
Theres the street martial arts stuff like Krav Maga and such. Depending on the school some do next to no sparring because their techniques are said to be so deadly. I'm not a fan of that idea. They work with alot of knife defense and gun defense situations, again, not a fan of that. Faced with a knife or a gun, I'm running the hell away.
Now this brings us to grappling styles.
I don't think you'll be interested in either greco roman or Freestyle wrestling.
Judo is very diverse grappling art. You'll learn predominantly throws. You'll learn very quickly you can't have long fingernails. At the same time, Judo is very elegant, if you put in the effort you can expect some good results. Judo works with the white pyjamas, or gi as they call it. Some people don't like that, but it teaches you to use people's jackets against them, chances are you're not fighting a naked person on the street anyway. Judo sparring can be quite rough but it's manageable. But you'll feel a sense of acomplishment when you can start to throw people over the air.
There's Brazilian Jiujitsu, which is what I do. Not many girls do BJJ for long because it's very intimate and physical, but there are girls who train, and they can smash guys who aren't taking it easy. Proponents call it a good system for rape defense, because it's about wrestling on the ground. And in a rape scenario, the opponent is between your legs. For a BJJ person against an untrained attacker, one person is gonna be in a world of pain.
There's a whole heap of other martial arts I haven't covered, or don't know about.
If you really want to try it. Decide whether you want to do grappling, striking or a mix of both. Look up the schools in your area, and we can talk about which ones might be good.
^^ wow Banh Mi thanks for the thoughtful and lengthy response. I watched your video and the class atmosphere doesn't look so intimidating. The reason why I wanted to take Judo in particular was because in my area there's a non profit organization that offers it within a decent price range and walking distance. Since I know who to ask now, I'll hit you up when I'm more clear about what I want to achieve.
Yes, I do like to kick btw.
I like me.
Where should I go for my annual conference: Vancouver, Palo Alto, or Las Vegas?
oh, choices.
(this is not a question any of you can answer)
Your best bet is to try a class and see if you like it. Most martial arts clubs offer first class free tryouts. Though the first thing you'll learn in Judo is how to fall safely, and that can be boring. Best to form your opinion after you've learned a few throws.
I'm starting yoga this semester, which would be good. Hopefully, I'll get fit in time for Cuba.
Because I'm somewhere in between,
My love and my agony.
You never told me anything about Cuba? Bring me back some cigars.
You can tell martial arts schools are desperate for female students by the huge post BM wrote in response to one line of question from a girl.
"Anything you can't say NO to is your MASTER, and you are its SLAVE."
"I disapprove of what I say, but I will defend to the death my right to say it."
