I am sorry. I do not mean it.
Holidays! Holidays! Wherefore art thou Holidays!
I want a break!
Looking forward to Christmas! Only less than 3 months to go!

Is there any truth about this article? I hope it's all BS.

adultery, beating, mental abuse, useless, can't fix a bulb, can't assemble an Ikea table, weak person, too many family events, terrible face ...
You should be happy that you got what you wanted, so what's wrong now?
I recently had a thought about rewatching Chor Lau Heung 84'. It has been a long while since I watched my old Chinese dramas. Too much Korean/Japanese dramas lately. Partly the blame for me not being on the forum as much as before. But I will be back more, I'll try.
I know what you mean. I've already got a vacation coming up by the end of October. Originally was planning for cruise, but that ship has sailed and I need a new vacation plan pronto!

I have found that I am more of a silent reader in the forum nowadays rather than an active poster. I am always hanging around the forum but have little to comment. You girls are hardly ever on and there is no one for me to talk to anymore!
I am just going to stay home and sleep and not take any work calls. Vacations can be tiring as well.

Yes, traveling for vacations can be tiring. Perhaps, I'll do more exploring locally since I do live in a metropolitan area, there's a lot of different things to see.
I will visit the group boards here too. So I see Ken Cheng's wishes for this year.

This week she only came to work on Tuesday and Thursday. Call in sick on Monday, emergency leave on Wednesday because she needs to service her car (that's a new one) and sick again on Friday. She have been told repeatedly that the documents we need to on the Friday pending only her portions, yet she conviniently didn't came to work.

Does your workplace differentiate between sick days and vacation days? My current places pools them into a general PTO pool but I've worked at places where they were bucketed individually. In the latter case you had 10 sick days per year, and gained nothing if they were unused. Conversely if you did use them, they would "reflect negatively on your performance" if used "excessively". Given those conditions, people are more likely to use up all of their sick days if they were already expecting a poor review.

You: I survive somehow
HK47: As do I. It is our lot in life I suppose master. Shall we find something to kill to cheer ourselves up?

The annual leaves and sick leaves are counted separatedly in my workplace. My managing director is actually very lenient with sick days, provided they are real cases. When one of my staff’s wive suffered miscarriage, he was granted a week of off-record leave on the spot. Last year, when I fell sick, the big boss actually extended my sick leave for a couple of days after he saw how pale my face was. However, in regards of that problematic staff, in a single month she typically will call in sick at least 5 times and always on Mondays and/or Fridays.

Me too. Our sick leave and annual leave are calculated separately and accumulate over the years of not used. You can take annual leave whenever you want but you must need approval prior. As for sick leave, you must have a doctor's cert for a certain number of consecutive days you have off to get paid. But if you are sick and run out of leave, you can still take time off but not get paid.
I am flexible with people being sick but I do not like it when they take sick leave for when they do not want to come to work or to irritate other staff. You should see our public holiday long weekends, a person is sick almost every Monday and Friday connected to a long weekend. The problem is that by doing that, it falls into the loophole in our system where two consecutive days are reported to upper management but when it is split over a weekend in between, it is not really a breach of rules.
