The Davinci Code was pretty good but it's fact that Dan Brown's fact is not fact. There's a book called 'THE DAVINCI CODE FACT OR FICTION?' by Hank Hanegraaff & Paul L. Maier' that tell you whats fact whats not.

Scarlett. She's quite a character so far.
I was just kidding, I'm no better, because i'm currently reading Pride And Prejudice.

Well, The Da Vinci Code was never meant to be fact...it's a work of fiction meant for pleasure reading. I don't know if people would actually believe everything written in there.

I never quite liked Pride & Prejudice as much as most people...the Keira Knightley movie was not bad, but something about Jane Austen's writing bores me. I didn't like Emma either.

Gone with the Wind drags quite a bit. Ironically, I actually read it when I was in Grade 8 lol (such a long time ago *sighs*), but I only got to about pg. 800 (I think it was 1000 pages) and kind of gave up. Yeah, I know kinda ridiculous to give up when I was so close to finishing, but I knew what was gonna happen anyway. It's sad since the book is still sitting on my shelf after so many years. Maybe when I'm really old (I'm talking retirement with nothing better to do), I'll finish it again haha.

    I loved P&P.

though speaking of classic that are hard to get into, there's this one book that I just could not finish. Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness. It was actually a book I had to read for school too, and was given the summer to read it (summer before last which was summer before my last year of high school). I spent literally the whole 2 months of summer to try and read it. I never got past the first twenty pages. the meaning of words on the page just refused to sink in. Conrad...needless to say, I find his writing extremely hard to take in. the sentences he used were just long and unncessarily complex. though you have to credit the guy for writing so fluently in english considering it was his 3rd language.

consequently, I went online and read summaries of the book to do the work for class. thank goodness we didn't go so deep into the book and my teacher never found out that I never actually read it.

I'm reading Living History at the moment which is Hillary Rodham Clinton's memoirs. it's pretty interesting so far, I've only started the first chapter

I just bought the... Bible... I believe it to be the new translation... very bulky, but I won't get discouraged so easily... So, I will be reading it the next couple of... years. I'm not a believer, but since I never read it before... I decided to give it a try...

Like some of you... I love Jane Eyre...

And like some of you... I'm not too fond of Mrs J. Austen writing...

I'm also currently reading WORDS by Sartre for one of my course... It's mainly about his childhood...

I am reading the Prestige in lieu of seeing the movie. Which is awesome by the way.

I actually quite like Jane Austen. P&P is amazing.

Oh... and I'm trying to reread His Dark Materials. But I stopped in the middle of the second book again because of school and I'm still waiting to pick it back up.

Currently starting New Moon by Stephenie Meyers, sequel to Twilight. Twilight was just awesome and I'm hoping New Moon will become another favorite of mine.

Just a fair warning Edward and his family appears only in the beginning first 3 chapters and last few chapters. Isabelle spends the majority of the book mourning the disappearance of Edward and the Vampire family. I think the flaw of Stephanie Meyer is making such a weak heroine and well kind of unrealistic characterization. And I don't understand how she's so clumsy...like how does that work she can't walk straight without falling? I hope Ms. Meyer would answer that in the third book Midnight Sun (I think thats the title).

Thanks for the warning. So he disappears huh? When did this sequel release....I just found out it had a sequel and was pretty surprised. I don't really mind the heroine being weak. I mean, as long as she's not crying every 5 minutes or whatever, then I'm happy.

The sequel was released in September 2006. I don't remember her crying every 5 minutes but I do remember her moping and sulking around at home, doing all the chores and stuff to the point her Dad was worried and wanted to send her back to her mother to live. It's like without Edward she has nothing else to live for, and the ending where she wants to become a Vampire is just too much...I mean she thinks being a vampire is something you can just turn the switch and its all good as long as she's with Edward. Ms. Meyer didn't create a good enough heroine for me to appreciate. Isabelle is kind of irregular, I'm not sure how to phrase it.

    From Ms. Meyer's site http://stepheniemeyer.com/othernovels.html

She's planning to have the other sequels of Twilight released too. She hopes release the third book called Eclipse fall of this year and Fall of 2008 she hopes to release the fourth book called Breaking Dawn. She has also thought of writing Edward's version of the story called Midnight Sun.

Also on her site if you click on Twilight or New Moon theres a page of FAQ that can answer some of your questions concerning the books.

Thanks for the link SS. She sure is having a lot of sequels...I hope it doesn't get boring and annoying like Harry Potter.

Yes, I guess the moping does sound....desperate. But I do agree with turning her into a vampire. I think the only way they can have a happy ending is if she gets turned into a vampire or Edward turning into human (which I don't think I'll like). Anything else will just be a sad ending, she will eventually turn old and die and Edward might start trying to kill himself (like he mentioned in the beginning). Honestly, I think turning into a vampire is that "easy" (well somewhat) because I haven't experienced it, and neither has Bella so I don't blame the girl for trying to be with the "man" she loves forever.
