Chapter 4 A Broken Promise

Tuyen Huyen-Jessica Hsuan

Tuyen Huyen caringly wipe Thien Lac's face with a warm towel.

"Thien Lac, you shouldn't be fighting with Lam Phong (Raymond Lam) and his gang. Look at you, you're hurt!" Tuyen Huyen pouted and said.

"Oow, that hurt!" Thien Lac yell when Tuyen Huyen touch his black eye.

"See what I mean?!"

"They were picking on you. I couldn't help it."

Tuyen Huyen chuckle at Thien Lac's puppy face.

"You're so pretty when you smile." Thien Lac said while looking at Tuyen Huyen.

Tuyen Huyen look down at the grass to hide her red face. She grin happily.

Thien Lac pick up some flowers and bind them together to create a crown of flowers. He gently place it on Tuyen Huyen's head.

"I'm the king and you're my queen." Thien Lac told Tuyen Huyen.

He grab hold of Tuyen Huyen's hand and the two kids ran across the forest happily.



"You have to go?" Tuyen Huyen ask, her eyes show traces of tears ready to flow out any second.

Thien Lac turn away from her and sigh.

"Why?! Why do you have to go?! Why can't you stay here?!" Tuyen Huyen said and then she burst out crying. Trail of tears flow down her cheek.

Thien Lac embrace her as she cry on his shoulder.

"I will be back, I promise." Thien Lac whisper into Tuyen Huyen's ear. She look at him and ask:

"You're not lying?"

"I'm speaking the truth. I will be back."

"How long will you be going?"

"Probably for two years."

Tuyen Huyen's face sadden. She didn't want him to leave her.

"It's only for two years. I will be back and we will be together again. You're my queen, my love." Thien Lac said while cupping her face in his hands.

Tuyen Huyen took out a flute and gave it to Thien Lac.

"I want to you have this. When you look at it, it's like looking at me." Tuyen Huyen said.

"I have nothing to give to you," Thien Lac said sadly but then he suddenly remember something. He take out a crystal phoenix and said,"I want you to have this."

"Thien Lac, I can't take it. It's too expensive." Tuyen Huyen gasp at the crystal phoenix.

"Please take it."

"I... okay." Tuyen Huyen sigh and took the crystal phoenix from Thien Lac's hand.

"Remember me."

"I will."

Thien Lac walk away as a drop of tear fell down his cheek.

Two years later,

He never came back. He didn't keep his promise. How could he do this to me? He said he will never hurt me. Co Thien Lac, I hate you. You are nothing but a liar!

Chapter 5 Five Years Later

Tieu An Tuan-Vincent Jiao

He ran across the dead corpses in fear. He look behind him, pitch black. The smell of blood was all around him, making him sick.

Wait a minute! There was something else. That smell, the smell of roses.

“Show yourself! I know you’re here!” the man yell out, hoping it wasn’t her.

A feminine figure step out of her hiding place. Her face was hidden under the shadow of the night sky. However, her eyes were visible. Those pair eyes look at him murderously.

“Who are you?! Why are you here?! Leave me alone!” the man screams out.

“You know perfectly well why I’m here. So are you going to give it to me peacefully or do I have to take it by force?” the figure finally spoke out, her voice was ice cold.

“I… I don’t know what you’re talking about!” he said and covers his ears with his hands.

“Suit yourself,” she shrug and leap forth...

“Who could have done such an awful thing?” a young man sigh while looking at the lifeless corpses.

An old man in his late seventies bent down to examine one of the dead corpses.

“This man has probably been dead not too long ago. Look, his hand is still somewhat warm.” The old man said.

There was no trace of the man’s death. No wound, no sign of being poison.

“This killer’s martial arts are not to be taken for granted. They could kill a person without leaving any trace of injuries behind.” The old man told his disciple.

“Mentor, do you smell that?” the young man asks his teacher.

“The smell of roses, could it be?” the old man mutter.

The young man looks down at his feet. There were several red roses planted on the floor, around the dead corpses.
“Look at that, An Tuan (Vincent Jiao),” the mentor pointed to a pillar near them. There was a picture of a phoenix imprinted on it, “my prediction was right. This is the work of Red Rose.”

“Who is she?” An Tuan ask curiously.

“I don’t know. Rumors spread around mo lam was that she was an assassin from the Black Widow sect. Whenever she kills somebody, red roses would appear near the victims’ corpses. A phoenix would be imprinted somewhere near there. No one knows her true identity so they call her Red Rose. Her martial arts are not to be underestimated.”

Chapter 6 The Game Has Just Begun

She elegently step down the stair. Her face was cover with a white veil.

The men all look at her with lust in their eyes.

She look at all of them with disgust.

"I pay 1000 gold nuggets for her!"

"2000 gold nuggets!"

"Now now, be patient. Miss Vien is trying to talk." the pudgy owner of this brothel told the men.

"You all are willing to do anything for me, right?" she eyed them all, waiting for a reply.

"Yes, we would do anything." their reply came just like she have expected it.

"If I want you all to die, would you die?" she ask again.

Smoke cover the whole area. People screaming to get out. She stood there, expressionless.

She watch those men falling over, dead. The smoke die down and she was gone. A single white rose lay where she have stood.

He saw the whole thing, his lip curve into a smile.

"Very amusing." he mutter.

He walk to the stair and bent down to pick up the white rose.

"White Rose, the game has just begun. You won't be smiling for long." he said while smelling the white rose.

He chuckle quietly and then whistle.

A young girl appear, smiling. She was beautiful and innocent. No one could suspect that she is a killer.

"Master, you call me?" she ask.

"I want you to do something for me." he said, his eyes show death.

Yeap, yeap, we haven't talked for quite a while now all becasue of my stupid internet connnection. Hehe... Oh and also forgot to mention my tons of homework. So how have you been doing?

At first I thought Red Rose was probably Jessica, but then when White Rose showed up, I went back to the poster and now I'm thinking Red Rose is probably Anita because she's wearing red. White Rose might be Gigi or Jessica. Hehe.. that's what I think. Well, just to make me think, don't tell me if I'm right or wrong okay.

Chapter 7 The Night of Many Events

An Tuan (Vincent Jiao) walk around the garden while inhaling the fresh smell of flowers.

The garden was fill with many type of flowers, ranging from the most plain-looking ones to the more beautiful ones.

There was one mystery, though.

The garden contain every kind of flowers there are in the world, yet there were no roses, the queen of all flowers.

As An Tuan's mind wander to space, four shadows was seen flying in the garden.

Their identities was hidden by the branches of the trees.

An Tuan's eyes pop open and he look around cautiously. His sharp ears pick up the sound of fighting ahead.

Quickly, An Tuan flew to the fighting scene using his awesome lightness kung-fu.

He reach there just in time to see a young girl trying to get away from three other women wearing green.

Without hesitating, An Tuan rush in to aid the defenseless girl.

One of the women kick the girl, sending her flying to An Tuan's arms.

An Tuan held the girl by her waist and look back to see the three women dissappearing into the night.

He made no attempt to run after them. Instead, he look at the weak girl in his arm worrily.

Her clothes was torn up and stain with her blood. She was injure badly. The girl spit out blood and close her eyes.

An Tuan feel her pulse, he let out a sign of releive when he saw she was still breathing.

Quickly, An Tuan flew back to his mentor's cottage with the girl in his arms. He know his mentor can help her.

She walk inside the dimly lit cave. Unaware of a shadow following her. Suddenly, a big black figure leap toward her from behind.

A dark figure stood in a forest while staring at the full moon as she relive the happy memories she have has here.

"Si jie (big martial sister)." a girl wearing pink jump out of nowhere and stood behind the figure.

"You have news?" the figure ask coldly.

"Yes, the Lam family is on their way to Beijing. Giao Chu (sect leader) want us to kill them as soon as possible." the girl in pink reported.

"Okay, tell her that I will kill them by sunset tomorrow."

"But... Giao Chu want us to work together."

"I don't care. I don't need help. Go back and tell Giao Chu that Red Rose will complete the task."

"But..."

"I know Giao Chu favor you but that doesn't mean you can argue back with me. Now do what I said!!!"

"Yes, si jie."

The girl in pink leap away and out of sight.

"Time to get to work." the dark figure mutter softly, her eyes flash dangrously.

Chapter 8 An Angel Sent Down From Heaven

The sun slowly rise up as the early morning sky turn a shade of orange.

A shadow appear, holding a long sword with fresh blood dripping down its sharp blade. The shadow turn around and shot a disgusted look at the mansion behind her. She turn around and walk away, her shadow looming above the blood stain ground.

An Tuan sat by the bedside and stare at the figure sleeping peacefully on the bed. He couldn't take his eyes off this young girl.

She look so innocent and delicate like the soft petal of a flower that grow in his garden. Her smooth white skin make her look even more serene.

An Tuan bring his hand up to caress her rosy pink cheek. That soft movement cause her eyes to flutter open.

An Tuan found himself staring into a pair of beautiful attractive brown eyes.

"Miss..." An Tuan adress the young lady in a polite manner.

The girl quickly sit up and scoot away from him. Her eyes show a trace of fear.

"Miss, don't be scare. I mean no harm." An Tuan made an attempt to calm her down.

"Who... who are you?" she asked, her voice was barely audible.

"My name is Tieu An Tuan, I saw you fighting with some disciples of the Jade Sword sect. They knocked you unsconcious and I saved you." An Tuan reply, mesmerize by this angel sitting in front of him.

"You saved me? Thank you, Tieu dai hup (Hero Tieu)." the girl got off the bed and kneel down to kowtow to An Tuan.

An Tuan quickly help her up, "No need to be so formal. I'm sure everybody would have done the same."

"Thank you, I have to go now." the girl said and walk toward the door.

An Tuan, remembering he have forgot to ask for her name, quickly shout after her, "Miss, I still don't know your name!!!"

It was too late, the girl have already dissappear.

After she have left, An Tuan still stood at the door, cussing himself for not inviting her to stay. In his heart, he wonder if he will ever get a chance to meet her again.

Vinh Nghi (Anita Yuen) spun around only to see a white tiger leaping toward her. She didn't dodge fast enough and was shove to the ground by the strong figure.

"Bach Ho (White Tiger), get off me. You silly tiger." Vinh Nghi said and stood up, brushing the dust off her white gown.

The tiger let out a friendly roar and return to its nap.

Vinh Nghi shook her head at the sight and chuckle.

A shadow leap to where Chi Lam (Julian Cheung) stood and kneel down.

"Any news?" Chi Lam ask with his back turn away from the feminine figure.

"Yes, they do have it. They're planning to take it to Hoa Son (Fire Mountain) and get rid of it." the kneeling figure reported.

"Tomorrow, I want you, Kha Doanh (Kenix Kwok), Thieu Phan (Ada Choi), and Truong Dinh (Zhang Ting) to go after it. Don't dissappoint me."

"Yes master."

"By the way, is your injury okay?"

The kneeling figure blush and reply, "I'm okay."

"Good. Any more news?"

"Mistress is now staying at a cave not far from here. About 10 miles east of here."

"Okay, good. You can go and repair for your trip tomorrow."

"Yes master." With that said, the figure somersaulted away.
