Once upon a time, in science fiction, there was known to be a Big Three. They were Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke. Those men have long passed. Today, another science fiction master has also left us. He was not ranked along side the other men but he stood just as tall; few men or women who received an American education has not read one of his books. RIP, Mr Bradbury. Thank you for sharing your stories with us.

Met the man once. Treated me (and several dozen other people) to a nice steak dinner in San Diego one year. Very nice man...and quite a prophetic one as well.

I had the opportunity to attend one of his speaking engagements 10 years ago. He'd already suffered a stroke by then so his speech was a bit slurred. He was funny and sharp. I'll never forget it.
