Li Chun played her role extremely well, that she's become the common enemy of viewers . She wasn't even "allowed" to be friendly/flirty to Wallace, LOLOLOL. It will be interesting to check her next projects, where she will play different character. She looks lovely in the BTS.

Nah, I think there are others here who like it wholly too, only they don't post it/are not as actively writing. If you swing over to other forum, though, the love for the series is obvious. Many declare that they already miss it too.

I'm sure that's the case. But I'm already late to those party. At least here I feel safe.

I'm now following the Nirvana in Fire thread. Made a couple of posts there, but they're just too fast for me at the moment. Viki has only subbed two episodes, and I have only got to ep 8. The other posters there are either Mandarin or Vietnamese speakers (which I am neither one LOL), so they are already up to the latest episode. I'm okay with some spoilers to help me understand the dialogues, but at this point I'm more of a passive participant .

I was about to check that out as well, but it's still new, so I'll wait til more ep is out, or until it finish.

Apparently, MY did not sacrifice himself straightaway when HQG died. There was a period where BZH went nuts and had to be taken back to Changliu. MY eventually felt regretful, and after chatting with ZR who was imprisoned in Changliu's cage, he went to off himself. And then ZR accepted his 30 years of isolation punishment after forgiving his dad.

Part of my photobooks for HQG has arrived. This is the BTS version split into two books because cheaper than doing it in one book. 40 pages, 6 inches x 6 inches in size all for RM5 plus delivery I think RM12. Cheaper than printing yourself and less the hassle. I went mad a bit with the font size thinking the book's gonna be small, must be able to read but the book size is actually decent. I can actually carry them in my handbag, albeit a medium sized handbag.

You can see the difference in print quality since one picture is better quality than the other. If they all had been great quality, it would come out clear. Now some are quite grainy despite its small size.

Quite satisfied with them. Can't fault the book binding and paper quality since this is reputable company. However I would have wished for smaller text font (my fault) and making the pictures all at least 3 times brighter since this is matt paper and tends to print darker (my fault). I did make them all 2 shades brighter!

Coming soon is my Fan Art book which is bigger, hardcover and I expect that to turn out great. Now I am just afaid the font may be too big.

Still ongoing is two more books, this time solely on the scenes from the series. That will be smaller than my Fan Art version but in landscape mode.

I am wondering how anyone could print from instagram or facebook when picture quality is worse than these. The best is using DSLR cameras.

I watched the 2 eps shown yesterday but it looks the same to me. I'll watch it again tonight as 8 eps are on and see if there is anything different.

I can hear grumblings. Apparently why some feel it is different is because they did not watch the uncut version and so the one showed is the uncut version. Frankly I can't remember how uncut started.

Everyone seems to expect real uncut. No way man! No way! Moreover it is 8am and 8am is not the time to show those biting and sucking and stuff. But let's see; by tomorrow we shall know if there is biting and sucking.

I received my HQG Fan Arts photobook today and I have to say, I am in love with it. Quality is excellent because the originals were all huge. A few small mistakes with alignment and text is sorta big but other than that, wow.

The cover is hardcover, size is 11 inches X 8.5 inches landscape.

Just finished this series. Something different from your typical fantasy wuxia. Songs are nice, actors did good job and sad end. Anyone know if theirs gonna be uncut version? Last ten episodes seems rushed.

I finished it too. Not bad. Pretty series overall. I like it except for the extremely kiddish parts--mainly HQG's classmates and prefer her to be with "Big Sister" than BZH. Agree on rushing part of last few episodes. Would like to see more adult interaction between characters and more of Zhao Li Ying in future series. She has such a pretty face and she can act really well.

I was quite surprised with the change that involved MY's death. I hope they filmed BZH's craziness and release that. I was rather disappointed that it was left out right after HQG's death. BZH was supposed to break shortly after being cursed and HQG breathing her last breath. It carries through his tragedy and torture of being left in the world after HQG dies. And it dovetails into ZR's speech. I have a feeling in the final cut, ZR's speech was not only meant for BZH's ears, but also for MY and everyone in attendance. I've always thought it was the single thing that brought BZH to his senses, so it was a powerful speech in itself. In it's original novel context, I thought, it basically told BZH had no right to feel sorry for himself when he was given chance after chance, and still chose to hurt HQG. Also, despite what he felt, that he ultimately chose everyone and everything else over HQG, so why would he regret his choice with this craziness. Even HQG in one of the deleted scenes queried this, by asking that if he loved her, why he chose to be so cruel to her. I wonder at this too.

While I can understand from purely BZH's point of view why he thought he loved HQG, I don't agree that he was completely helpless in his choices. So I disagree with Wallace. There were many choices BZH made that was his own. And they were not circumstantially and culturally forced by the times. ZR's ending speech was about denials, sacrifices, and consequences. I thought it wouldn't of had the impact it had - enough to halt BZH's crazy - if BZH truly did no wrong.

BZH's internal dialogue speaks of regret too. His famous words: "Who are these other people to me? What do I care if they die? I will give you everything - my love, my person. Just don't leave me." Okay, so why didn't you say this when HQG was asking you to run away with her? Say it after she is dead. If BZH had said these words earlier, or chose to calmly accept his decision and reality that indeed, a relationship between a parent figure-teacher and his pupil is wrong, then I can get that. Realizing that you value someone after they are dead just means to me you waited too late to wake up from denial.

But the poor man spent 30 years mentally unstable. And had to ride the anxiety of HQG likely choosing DFYQ (he was the only man who she hinted at wanting to return to), or her hating him once she regained her memory. So uh, cannot stay frustrated with Jun Shang I guess.

The Taiwan version has actually more cut scenes and you have these annoying pixels everytime someone gets a sword stuck through them and it is very irritating. There are no extra scenes but you have a slight improvement to the CGI. The Hebei version which has just finished airing is the same as the Hunan version, except there are some colourful improvements to some CGI.

I would say on average, Hubei version has better looking CGI and people actually have a sword to stand on. The quality is OK.
Guangdong version is horrible with his blue tone, extremely cut scenes. TW version has average quality and the censoring pixels are annoying. Hunan/Sohu web version has the clearest HD version but the CGI is passable.

Nope. I heard rumours that Ciwen was trying to put together an alternate version of TJOF starring Ji Chen (the guy who played Prince Qi in Nirvana in Fire" as Bai Zi Hua. Not sure about the other casts yet but to remind the audience of the cut scenes won't help their new movie and it would just remind everyone to boycott. So unless someone hacks into Ciwen, it is unlikely that we will see the uncut scenes.
