I was writing an email to my son's teacher at his Chinese school and wanted to use the phrase in Cantonese "Sam See Yin Hou Hang", meaning "reconsider before taking action". However, I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to translate that to Mandarin and pinyin it into the phone, so ended up with something else. Does anyone know if the phrase is exclusively Cantonese, or does anyone know how to say it in Mandarin? I've usually been able to roughly translate Cantonese into Mandarin using trial and error, assisted by the mobile phone's handy auto-correct and auto-search features, but in this case I completely failed to get anywhere near what I wanted to say.
