Hello, i just felt like writing something. I hope it can interest you. If you read it, please leave a short message so i know. THanks.
It was a very fine morning in LILI elementery school. The sun was shining out high in the sky and the clouds seemed to be transparent. The 1st graders were playing heartily in the school yard.
"Look overthere," pointed Mei towards outside the fence. "That's the new kid in our class. He never talks and only came to school on the first day. Do you remember?"
"Why is he so depressed?" asked Zou.
"Who knows," said Mei walking away.
"Time to go inside." Ms. Wong yelled to everyone.
Zou took one last look at the new kid. His depression seemed to fill her heart. She really wished that she could help him in some way, make him happy. She started walking slowly towards the building.
The next day, Zou saw him again in the same place. Watching the gloomy shadow of his back, she couldn't stand it anymore. Walking towards him, she simply scooped up the front of his shirt and said, "You're coming with me," as she dragged him to the teacher.
"Teacher," she said, "I brought him to the class."
All he did was look at her with no expression in his eyes.
Many days passed. The same thing happened every morning. Zou would always pick up him in front of the fence and drag him to school. They never talked and didn't know anything about each other. One day, Zou, again went to pick him up. She saw him crying.
"Why are you crying," she asked. "WHy are you always like this. Don't you want to make friends? Don't you want to be happy."
"I have no friends. I'm an unwanted child. That's what my mother told me."
"Nonsense, nobody's unwanted. Everybody has a friend. You know what, i'll be your friend. I'll never let you be lonely again. I will always be by your side. If you have anything to say, you can say it to me. First, tell me your name."
He looked at her. The words "no thank you," almost came out but as he looked into her friendly eyes, he couldn't stand the temptation.
THinking to himself, "Can I? Can i really have a friend?" Then he lifted up his head and simply said, "Liu Lei"
She smiled.
A month passed. Lei turned into the exact opposite of what he was before. He made friends with everybody and came to school everyday. Zou kept her promise and became his best friend. Even though they both had other friends, they were the most important to each other. To them, he alwasy had her and she always had him and no matter what happens, none of them would be alone. One day, after watching a happy couple get married on TV, Lei said, "When i grow up, I'm going to marry Zou."
"Okay." she said.
Even though it was only one sentence, it stayed in Zou's heart for 9 years.
"Li Zou! Li Zou!" the teacher screamed angrily. "How many times to i have to tell you not to daydream in class? Read the next paragraph."
"Yes sir." Zou started reading, but her mind was still drifting far away in her childhood memories. She is already 16 years old and parted with Lei for 9 years after he moved away, but still, she rememebers that today is his 16th birthday.
