Cliffhangers...blah. Reminds me of A Matter of Customs, Square Pegs, Sword Stained With Royal Blood, etc. I wonder if those were done by the same scriptwriters.

I'd go with tragic endings anyday than cliffhangers, like BF2 & Lofty Waters Verdant Bow to name a few.

Agree....I just hate open cliff hanger endings!!! But then one good thing about them is that if you don't like what happened during the serial, then you can imagine what could happen and finish off the serial in your mind hehe, imagination is the key...

I don't know why, but lately I have enjoyed watching tragic endings... *Goddess shrugs shoulders*

Everytime I want to do that... Mum tells me to go direct/write TVB series instead...

And if I do... I'd probably never have the heart to put a closure to the story. Haha... it'd go on forever.

    Off topic:
goddess, another I can think off Hotelier... nobody THAT important dies... somebody does...but nobody to make you hate that story, if you get my drift.

gooze, I can hardly remember what BFI was all about!!

Haha. It's probably a lot more fun to rant and complain about the scriptwriters/producers/etc than to actually do something about it

    Definitely

Either way... if it were me, there's bound to be somebody ranting/complaining about the storyline anyways!

My father always tell me the same thing.

he would always say " if you are so clever, why don't you go direct a show?"

I would always answer " if I had directed the show, i would win an academy award for best script, best director, best story, best this best that....etc".

    I'm sure you will

On my end, come to think of it ... I'd leave the scripting to the scriptwriters...

I rather beat the scriptwriters and write the script myself.

That's why the scriptwriters exist, for us to rant about and wanting to beat the hell out of them. But I still like how the scriptwriters wrote BF's ending, sorry kljs, we're always different on this.

Hehe, I think we should give the poor scriptwriters a break. They are just trying to do their jobs. They can't make everyone happy!!! Then again I'm guessing they aren't making everyone mad either.

I enjoy BF2's ending also. Even if it was sad

I know. And I respect your opinion.

    cherrie,
sure, if someone out there is willing to read it first.
plus I need to have an idea on what people want to see that is not monotonous and not stereotype.

I totally respect those scriptwriters... despite all my rantings... they're amazing people with a great talent for writing... I wouldn't have been able to ever write like that.

Thanks to them, I am able to get my daily fix of series... and that's very important!

And it's hard to please everyone... I suppose being a scriptwriter, you write from your heart... and it's impossible to encompass everybody's choices into a storyline... some are good, some are bad...

And yes I loved BFII and its ending... it's entirety is what makes it so good.

But Kenny, do go ahead and write your script. I'll read it/watch it... It'd be awesome to see your imagination run wild.

    my imagination is always wild.
there is one thing that I don't like about myself. I will tend to write endings that aren't tragic, but aren't happy either. it is just like a between.

But then you're prepared to be rant by people he..he.. I guess there's always two sides of the knife, you'll get some positive comments where people admire you but you'll also gain negative remarks at the same time. Anyway, my encouragement for you also kljs. Let that imagination flow.

I believe that's called fan-fiction. Sometimes, I prefer cliff-hanger openings for that specific purpose. When things are set in stone, and you're dissatisfied with the ending, it can be corny try and reverse certain situations like death.

TVB scriptwriters are probably some of the best in Asia and I really take my hat off to them. Of course they come up with duds occasionally, but I'd be hardpressed to find dramas that can push my buttons better than TVB's.
